1. Job Purpose:
Controls, monitors and operates, on an assigned shift, Das Island utilities consisting of five boilers of total capacity of 340,000 lb/hr, eight numbers water desalination units of total capacity of 560,000 IGPD, air compressors station of total capacity of 3000 scfm, two inert gas generators of total capacity of 2500 SCFPH and three numbers of potable water tanks and distribution network. Ensures to maintain an uninterrupted supply of steam, potable drinking water, instrument air and inert gas to customers.

2. Principal Accountabilities:
 Controls the activities of assigned field operators from utilities control room to run the facility of boilers and auxiliaries, water distillation plants, potable water storage and distribution system, instrument air compressors and inert gas generators at their safe and efficient operational parameters. Records operational parameters on hourly basis and also maintains historical data records of the plant and equipment.
 Carries out potable water and steam calculations every day and prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports. Carries out all routine operational activities in the plant. Ensures safe isolation of the facility for any maintenance activities including major overhauls. Conducts daily and frequent site checks to ensure the facility is running safely and efficiently. Prepares operating procedures in co-ordination with field operators. Maintains an effective communication with other teams to cater for customer satisfaction.
 Maintains the continuity of facility operation in case of any emergency / abnormal operation situation. Maintains enough stock of chemicals required for operation always on site together with the records. Undertakes special tasks to analyze any abnormal deviation of operational parameters. Undertakes any additional tasks as instructed by shift supervisor. Initiates works requests and follow up till the completion of the job.
 Monitors work sites, ensures fulfilling relevant work permit conditions, checks completed work to ensure adherence to work permit conditions in maintaining the work site neat and tidy. Ensures adherence to established operating procedures in all operational and maintenance activities. Reads and ensures compliance to HSE regulations, operating manuals, procedures, standing instructions and plant operating parameters during routine and non routine jobs.
 Attends / conducts safety group meetings and follows up the outstanding issues raised. Contributes positively in the implementation of HSEMS and team KPIs. Reports and encourage others to report near misses and substandard conditions / practices. Conducts emergency exercises and HSE campaigns. Schedules and records safety training for subordinates.
 Performs supervisory job in shift in an acting capacity during the absence of supervisors due to any reason. Trains and develop the UAE nationals and new recruits. Develops the skill of subordinates in control room operation.
3. Communication & Organizational Relationships:
 Daily contacts with work associates and operations personnel up to Supervisor level to discuss special activities, exchange information and receive guidance and instructions.
 Works according to standard procedures and specific instructions, using own initiative, particularly in emergency situations and when encountering non-routine events. Keeps Supervisor advised of work progress.
المهارات
 Completion of secondary technical education or equivalent.
 5 years experience in steam generation and water desalination units.
 Good knowledge of English.
