ENGINEER - COASTAL RADIO (MOBILE SYSTEMS)

Duties & Responsibilities :
1. Coordinates and controls the deployment of staff on call-out/shift/remote station duties as required. Reviews the productivity, work practices and economic/efficient deployment of resources, test equipment and personnel.
2. Controls and guides Coastal Radio activities and ensures that the operation and maintenance of Base Station equipment and systems are carried out efficiently, systematically and in accordance with the instructions/guidelines of Manufacturers, Suppliers, International Telecom Regulatory/Professional Organizations as well as the policies/procedures of and meet the KPI’s.
3. Prepares routine and/or special reports such as maintenance schedules, operational and incident reports, accident reports, technical reports, volume of activity, KPI Report, etc.; assists in analysis, consolidation and follow-up, as required.
4. Preparing / verifying different kinds of Reports for Management like Replacement Report, PM Report, Snag report, KPI report etc.
5. Organizes shift-wise reports on system faults; follows-up as required.
7. Assists the field staff in performing the required rectification/maintenance tasks in complex cases.
8. Interfaces effectively with personnel from both within and outside the unit such as
other engineering sections and HO, to address O&M;issues/concerns.
9. Ensure all test equipment and tools are maintained and calibrated to meet manufacturer standards as per schedule. Repair equipment and tools where cost effective, replace when nearing or exceeding their lifecycle.
10. Assists in compiling the requirement of tools, test equipment, stores and spares and preparing the quarterly/annual procurement requisitions.
11. Controls and coordinates the deployment and utilization of tools, test equipment, stores, spares as well as special installation materials. Ensures that guidelines relating to the safety and security of the equipment are complied with by the maintenance teams.
12. Manage Spares and Buffer stocks required by Field Maintenance by maintaining the Data Base that provides a cost effective means to track, store, distribute and return for repair (or replacement).
13. Establish priority of activities with other functions within the Maintenance process in order to utilize Field Maintenance resources most effectively.
14. Snags verification, clearance & updates.
15. Generate theft & damage Reports based on field staff visits & provide relevant details to Manager to forward to concerned sections for Police Report & follow up.

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE - AED 8,500/- to AED 13,000/-.
Formal Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics/Telecom
Engineering

Related Professional Training, Certification or Membership:
Training in operation and maintenance of Coastal Radio Operation hardware and software elements; UAE driving license
Years & Field of Experience required:
6-8 years in providing Operation and Maintenance support to
Mobile Systems in a large Telecom Service Provider.
Principal Functions :
• Oversees the testing, operation and maintenance of Coastal Radio Systems, hardware and software and interfaces with Central Engineering, Manufacturers and Contractors as required.
• Reviews the Operation and Maintenance practices vis-à-vis the standards, procedures and guidelines and resolves issues/concerns/criticalities.
• Interfaces effectively with sections in HO/Regions as well as with Consultants, Contractors, Manufacturers and Suppliers.
• Reports and reviews with superiors the significant/critical operation and maintenance parameters including faults/outages.
• Oversees and guides the work of the junior staff for maintenance activities to ensure proper functioning of services in the Coastal Radio Systems
• Generate theft & damage Reports
• Manage Spares and Buffer stocks
