Strategic
• Support in the development of the Benefits Payments’ strategic objectives
• Assist in the periodic review of existing Application Management’s policies and procedures to achieve operational efficiency
• Contribute to the oversight of the operational performance of the section against the set objectives and KPIs on a regular basis
• Contribute to promotion of innovation and excellence, and collaboration between divisions and the use of technology
• Support the implementation of and adherence to policies and procedures applicable to the section

Operational
• Oversee the process for benefit payments, including but not limited to payments, adjustments, terminations, account reconciliation and management of over and under payments
• Lead the review and issue of payment instructions to the payment provider
• Manage the process of off-boarding of claimants from the payments system, working with the application management and benefit affairs teams
• Oversee the maintenance of the customer payment log
• Lead the reconciliation of the benefits budget and escalate any issues
• Oversee the relationship with the payment provider, in conjunction with the partnerships team, and be the key point of contact and subject matter expert for the benefits payments process
• Liaise with the payment provider regularly to ensure timely payments and resolve any issues
• Review and evaluate continuous improvement recommendations from the team and implement a selected number of initiatives
• Cascade any changes in policy and procedure and drive the adoption and adherence to changes
