Composite liaison
Principal Duties:
As a Composite Technicians, will be responsible to support the supplier’s fabricating carbon composite parts in accordance with technical specifications
As a Composite Technician jobs are detail-oriented and involve establishing the properly Carbon parts fabrication and assembly process, including but not limit to:
Crafting,
Sanding,
Bonding,
Assembly,
Laminating,
Demolding, and autoclave with a variety of composite materials
Responsibilities include reading engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and completion
Ability to read precision measuring tools and instruments using calipers, micrometer, Starrett scales and dial indicators
Ability to use a variety of hand tools, grinders, sanders, files, Dremel, drills, and operate ovens
Perform bonding of composite assemblies consisting of various two-part epoxies, metallic hardware, and carbon fiber hardware
Hand lay pre-preg carbon fiber material on to molds and vacuum bag for cure
Establish the process to remove part from mold, perform mold release
Establish the process to perform repairs with the use of various adhesives and resins
Establish the process to remove and repair damage of honeycomb and core panels
Perform grinding, sanding blending, deburring operation
Produce composite components using the following materials:
Carbon Fiber
Fiberglass
Aramid (Nomex & Kevlar)
Other Advanced Carbon Materials
Techniques performed include:
Wet lay-up
Prepreg lay-up
Metal-to-Metal Bonding Utilizing Vacuum Bagging
Other Advanced Techniques
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Experience performing all aspects of composites work, specifically parts production utilizing various composites techniques.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment, be dependable, and have a desire to learn.
Ability to use basic computer functions including Microsoft Office to access Pratt & Miller electronic data & software.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Min Ten (10) years’ experience with Aircraft Carbon Parts Production
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience working in AS9100 or ASA-100 quality system
Experience working in AS9102 (First Article Inspection procedures)
Experience with NCAMP Carbon Fiber Material Spec
