Job Description and Requirements
Wood is currently recruiting for a Geohazard Engineer to join our onshore pipeline project team. Successful candidate should be able to perform the below duties and responsibilities;
Wood PMC team will execute the work from client office in Dubai. The project is expected to continue for 2-3 years.
Use your technical skills to deliver high quality engineering services in geotechnical and geohazard investigations, conceptual engineering designs, engineering studies, detailed engineering design, specifications, drawings, reports, and construction, primarily in the area of pipelines.
Use your business sense to assist in maintaining and building strong client relationships and developing and growing the business for the long term.
Use your leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills to manage projects and lead geotechnical hazard and multidisciplinary project teams.
Mentor, train, and develop junior to intermediate geotechnical engineering staff.
Preparation and review of technical proposals and reports.
Preparation of Scope of Works for Fault survey and review of Fault survey results
Recommendation for pipeline protection in fault crossings in terms of civil works
Review and approve detailed engineering reports and drawings in respective field
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, 10 to 20+ years of relevant geotechnical field and design experience, and an ability to manage projects
Candidates shall have a university degree with a minimum of an undergraduate degree (preferably with Masters or Ph.D. degree) in civil (geotechnical) or geological engineering from an accredited university
Demonstrated track record in the market sectors of Oil & Gas, Energy, and Transportation, with experience on the routing and design of oil & gas pipelines and transmission lines
Specific experience in pipeline routing in terrains with faults and in seismic areas.
A strong understanding of geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, and proven oral and written communication skills are essential
Good working knowledge of geotechnical engineering investigations, field monitoring, soil mechanics, pipeline industry, and slope stability.
Experience in geotechnical investigations, geo-hazard evaluations, air-photo interpretations, rock and soil slope stability evaluation, subsurface and aerial pipeline river crossings, instrumentation, and construction monitoring.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and a motivated team player.
Excellent client relations skills and abilities to provide projects deliverables on time and on budget.
A strong commitment to safety and sustainability.
