Purpose of the Job
Coordinate and deliver Occupational Health initiatives in support of site operations, maintenance and engineering, to help improve Health performance. Measure and monitor Occupational Health elements and ensure compliance to ADNOC Code of practice and OSHA’s guidelines related to Occupational Health Management
Job Scope includes observation, monitoring and reviewing process operations, evaluate deviations, propose and implement Occupational Health initiatives to prevent workplace illness and diseases
Description
Formulate, implement and evaluate policies and strategies for health protection and surveillance of workers to meet regulatory requirements and promote employee’s health and wellbeing
Perform Occupational Health Risk Assessment in compliance to ADNOC Code of practice requirements
Develop procedures and guidelines for controlling employee exposure to chemical, physical, ergonomics and biological hazards
Performs exposure assessments to identify and evaluate hazards and select effective control measures to protect workers
Participates in studies of new projects and plant modifications. Reviews specifications of equipment and materials on site to ensure Occupational Health requirements are included
Prepare monitoring strategies and performs field measurements using a variety of monitoring and sampling equipment
Prepare technical reports to document the evaluation of workplace hazards and mitigation strategies, including engineering controls, administrative controls or personal protective equipment, used to reduce or eliminate hazards
Support site OH team to develop their capability, motivating and mentoring them to meet the current and future requirements
Implementation of Occupational Health audit program. Conducts Occupational Health audits to verify compliance to standards and follows up on corrective actions
Communicate trends and advise on action plans to meet ADNOC / regulatory and voluntary requirements for health protection, surveillance and reporting
Provide training, advice, health surveillance, investigations of cases related to occupational ill health and other general Occupational Health issues
Compliance to annual Health performance reporting as required by ADNOC code of practice and highlights and presents issues to Manager with detailed analyses and suggestions

Works in accordance with established policies, procedures and specialized professional standards. Work accomplishments are subject to general review and direction
Control
Work completion is subject to review and direction of Vice President Health Safety and Environment
Work Contacts
Internal
Frequent contact with site Occupational Health Specialist to coordinate and share information
Frequent contact with site HSE Team to receive information and feedback and provide guidance
Frequent contact with employees up to section heads level in other department to discuss Occupational Health issues and to provide advice
External
Regular contact with equal level employees in other ADNOC group companies and Abu Dhabi, Ruwais based Plant for exchanging information and coordination
Occasional contact with local and international agencies for occupational health data
Contact with ADNOC Hospital for administrative, technical and scientific information sharing as required
Job requirements
Masters degree in Occupational Health / Industrial Hygiene with International Certificate in Industrial Hygiene (e.g. Certified Industrial Hygienist, Chartered Industrial Hygienist, etc.)
Atleast 10 years in Occupational Health or Industrial Hygiene Field preferably in a fertilizer or petrochemical industry with good knowledge in Windows and MS Office

Familiar with Occupational Health & Safety Management System, Chemical Agent Sampling, Physical Agent Sampling, Biological Agent Sampling, Ergonomic Assessments, Occupational Health Risk Assessment, Local and International Standards & Regulations, modeling etc.
Good working experience in industrial sectors (oil & gas, chemicals, manufacturing, construction, urban development, transport etc.)
Strong knowledge in applicable international standards and industry best practice guidelines / codes (e.g. HSE UK, OSHA, NIOSH, API, etc.)
Experience with ADNOC EHSMS and code of practices, considered as an advantage
