Job Description and Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
Generally responsible for implementations and monitoring of all mechanical electrical and plumbing related works at site as per approved drawings and methods and safety rules for the water and irrigation networks (including pumping stations, control panels, etc.) ensuring all activities are well planned and coordinated.
Review and processes all MEP related engineering submittals (shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, etc.) for the Project.
Interprets construction / shop drawings and studies the contract documents and applicable standards or specifications prior to execution of any jobs.
Manages directly and provide engineering and technical supports to the Resident Engineer at site.
Reviews, supervises and inspects the Works at site by the Contractor and undertakes the necessary action to rectify any non-conformity.
Submits all applicable monitoring reports on regular basis or as required.
Ensures that all the works done are in accordance with the approved construction drawings, contract documents, project specifications, and all applicable standards whether local, national or international standards.
Attends regular meetings with the client and other disciplines to provide update on project progress.
Pre-resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems at site that may arise at any time.
Coordinates contractors in preparing the daily progress reports.
Able to lead site personnel (inspectors and surveyors) to execute and completion the job on time.
Identify problems in design and proposes solutions.
Review the Engineering submittals (shop drawings, etc.) and ensure the timely approval progress as per agreed schedules.
Plan, organize review and evaluate the work of contractor and others.
Coordinate and liaise between the Electrical and other Subcontractors. Communication and interfacing between structural, architectural, electrical, procurement and any other services to ensure the proper technical execution of project works as per the requirement of the Client and the obligations of the Contractor.
Reports directly to the Resident Engineer.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of Eight (8) years of site experience in basic design requirements, construction supervision, estimation, installation and all site activities related to all MEP works for construction of water and irrigation networks and the related Works such as, but is not limited to, pumping stations, control panels, hydraulics analysis etc.
Familiar with all the Mechanical Engineering methodologies as well as the corresponding equipment, materials, consumables, tools and manpower allocations related to Mechanical works for building projects.
Well versed in interpreting and executing MEP related drawings.
Knowledge of international standards, codes and regulations. Knowledge of common project delivery methods and Middle East practices are also preferred.
Well knowledgeable of Authorities requirements within Emirates of Abu Dhabi.
