الوصف ومتطلبات الوظيفة In coordination with the Dean of the School of Engineering, in which the Department of Architecture is housed, and the faculty of the department, the Chair of the Architecture Department is expected to provide leadership for all operational functions and strategic initiatives involving AURAK’s Bachelor of Architecture program. Strategic initiatives for the department include NAAB accreditation and possible development of new programs in interior design, urban planning/studies, and sustainable development. The major responsibility for the faculty member in this role is the teaching of undergraduate courses in the Bachelor of Architecture program. All classes and other campus activities are conducted only in English. The successful candidate will be an accomplished scholar in his/her field of interests, incorporate high-impact educational practices in his/her teaching, advise undergraduate students, and provide service to the department, university, and community. Extent of experience with NAAB accreditation requirements should be indicated in the cover letter. Candidates interested in the role of Department Chairperson should also summarize in the cover letter their leadership experiences in a higher education environment. Required qualifications: · Ph.D. in Architecture from an accredited institution of higher education, with specialization in Building Structure Systems, Building Utilities, and Digital Architecture · Effective communication skills · Commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship · Interest and experience working effectively with a diverse student population · Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines · University teaching experience
