Job Description and Requirements
Job Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Research, the Institutional Research Analyst is responsible for gathering data, preparing reports, analyzing data and statistics, managing institutional data and technologies and administering surveys in support of institutional research, planning, and evaluation activities. The analyst will coordinate all aspects of external data reporting, including preparing data files for analysis, collecting data from academic programs and administrative offices, and ensuring data accuracy.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Data Management
Coordinates institutional research and data reporting schedules;
Interprets data definitions in data dictionaries and data requirements within the university community;
Receives data requests and processes them to serve and support efforts of senior administrators, accreditation processes, university committees, task forces, and work groups;
Processes data requests from accreditation agencies and government bodies including Ministry of Education departments and provides timely feedback to agencies and bodies;
Compiles, analyzes, verifies and reports accurate institutional data from university enterprise resource systems such as CampusVue;
Prepares drafts of the institution’s Factbook for approval and dissemination to the university community;
Assists in maintaining accuracy and completeness of data in data repositories and knowledge management systems;
Maintains census data as appropriate;
Assists in the preparation of the university’s annual report;
Institutional Surveys
Administers online institutional surveys on students, faculty, staff, alumni and employers;
Maintains and enhances the current course evaluation system in collaboration with the Information Technology Office;
Coordinates reporting of institutional surveys;
Designs, administers, analyzes, and creates reports of survey data;
Liaison and Engagement
Coordinates liaison with internal constituencies such as administrators, faculty and staff to obtain data requests and collect verified data for external reporting;
Maintains contact with key external agency personnel to clarify data requests and provide data for performance ranking, accountability and accreditation purposes;
Prepares and makes presentations of data and research to colleagues in focus groups, workshops, conferences and seminars
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient knowledge in data mining systems
Knowledge of survey design and analysis
Knowledge of statistical packages such as SPSS is highly desirable
Intermediate proficiency with data extraction and manipulation
Knowledge of data standards, definitions and requirements of the Ministry of Education is preferred
Application of Microsoft Office Suite especially spreadsheets and word processing formats including creation and formatting of data tables and different infographics and diagrams
Ability to work in a digitized environment
Ability to make presentations to small groups

Displays professional ethics when dealing with sensitive information
Has strong communication skills; ability to speak, read and write English at native language level. Proficiency in reading and writing Arabic is desirable
Shows ability to work effectively with others particularly in teams
Has good time management skills, such as ability to multitask and work under pressure
Required Qualifications and Experience:
An accredited bachelor’s degree in mathematical, business, social or educational sciences with upper level statistics courses.
Professional experience with collection, statistical analysis, interpretation and presentation of data results desired, preferably in a research and/or educational environment
