As a data scientist your main aim will be to deploy your strong analytical and technical skills to mould the data strategy of the organisation and provide reasonable solutions to any challenges.

Client Details

Very exciting opportunity to join a multinational financial services organisation. They have a large regional hub based in Dubai and are looking to expand their data science function as the utilisation of data matures within the business.

Description
Build and promote strategic data assets for the business in domains covering sales and marketing, offering development, pricing, claims management and moreContribute to the innovation process within the Data Science domain and champion business innovationsTranslate business ambition and needs into Data Science problems to be solvedBuild, implement, and update relevant metrics and dashboards for the Data Science activity while contributing to business data reporting improvements in other areasDevelop a good understanding for business needs (actuarial, sales, processing) through engagement and collaboration with various business teams (sales, offering and product development, actuarial)Translate business needs into formalised mathematical problems and models

Develop algorithms and procedures for which you will measure the relevance, performance and robustness over time, and improve with the engineering team the IT performance of the models they have developedConduct exploratory analyses on databases (including vast databases, unstructured or open, which are big data-like) to establish relations and/or correlations to potentially exploit in order to enhance business performanceManage and transmit the knowledge through appropriate documentation and initiatives (including training material, live demonstrations, training courses)

Profile
MS degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, CS, Econometrics or any related fieldStrong programming skills, including in Python (mandatory) and R (beneficial)Strong track-record in data processing (e.g., data mining, social network analysis, text mining, etc.)Experience with database access (SQL and Hive), including NoSQL databases (e.g., Elasticsearch, MongoDB, CouchDB, JSON files)Great ease in working with data visualisation/ data tools (e.g., Matplotlib, plot.ly, C3.js, Tableau, Highcharts, Dataiku)Good knowledge of machine learning, including libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, Spark MLlib, Caret, etc.) - professional experience with machine learning applied to business contexts constitutes a substantial advantageComfort working in an Unix environmentCapability to successfully manage and deliver Data Science projects, under the supervision and guidance of the Senior Data Science Manager
