IT Director

This is currently the most senior IT management role within the organization. The incumbent will assume complete ownership of the Organization’s IT strategy and ensure it is properly aligned with the overall objectives of the business. The IT Director will participate and contribute to the planning, development, evaluation management and assume complete budgetary control as well as co-coordinating all the information and technology systems for the business to ensure a competitive advantage.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Sets the mission and vision of the IT Organization to foster the desired culture.
• Provides strategic direction for all business wide IT operations, including infrastructure and architecture, applications development, re-engineering business processes, networks, outsourcing, and computer and auxiliary operations and support and integration following applications development and security following infrastructure
• Partners with the business leadership to define their operational strategy and facilitate the delivery.
• Builds relationships and create synergies across the business to ensure the most cost-effective and innovative shared solutions.
• Plans and delivers the annual expense and capital expenditure budget for the IT Department.
• Manages the budget to ensure consistency with the organization’s overall strategic objectives.
• Works with all functions and the IT Senior Management Team to develop a “people” strategy that is aligned with the internal Blue Eagle strategy to meet the group business objectives
• Stays current in new technologies and platforms; identifying which emerging technologies might be assimilated and integrated with the organization to ensure the future IT capabilities respond to the needs of the business in terms of future growth.
• Drives innovation and seeks out creative solutions to existing and future business challenges.
• Serves on Business Planning and Policy-making Committees; drive the development of business technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers values to the business.
• Provides leadership, coaching and direction to the IT leadership team and employees.
• Assists HR with the recruitment, hiring and appropriate induction of staff whenever required.
• Builds relationships and manage the performance of both suppliers and vendors.
• Develop, review and certify all information security policies, maintain business integrity, provide for service continuity and ensure all disaster recovery procedures are sound and fit for purpose.
• Analyse and assess existing digital assets and setting out the overall digital strategy for the business

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field; or relevant equivalent recent work experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• 10+ years in the IT and business / industry.
• 5+ years leadership responsibilities.
• 5+years in a related industry sector managing multiple, large, cross
projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
• Experience in handling an IT Budget of $5 Mil +
• Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in French is desirable.
• Understanding of current, and emerging, technologies, and project management / best practice frameworks (ITIL, ISO, PMI or Prince 2)

• Works closely with the Executive Office.
• Works closely with IT Managers and Colleagues.
• Specify the dotted lines to the business units/projects IT representatives to ensure IT governance
