The Senior Accountant is responsible for general accounting operations by controlling the financial transactions particularly related to Accounts Receivables and Payables
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts balances which includes receivables, payables and bank statements in timely manner
• Ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks
• Process student/receivable invoices in timely manner in liaise with internal departments for billing accurately
• Process vendors’ invoices for payments and ensure timely and accurate payment for all of University’s financial obligations to vendors
• Prepare cheques/wire transfer for payment upon approval
• Process reports and related works to ensure VAT filing is taken care of appropriately
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Protects University’s value by keeping information confidential
• Assist in year-end close process and external auditing
• Actively follow and promote all University policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks and duties that may be required in order to meet the requirements of the role and the aims of the University
المهارات
Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting or any other related field.
• A certification in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution is preferable (e.g. CPA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Minimum of five years relevant work experience.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Procedures
• Hands-on experience with general accounting software packages
• Computer proficiency/skills which includes advanced knowledge of Excel
• Fluent in English; Arabic is preferred.
