Job title - Specialist - Category Management
Job Purpose
The Specialist will provide inputs in developing category strategy/plans, assign requisitions to Category Associate Specialists and execute strategic sourcing and monitoring operational sourcing.
Job Accountability Area
- Support the development of multi-year category strategies and plans to achieve maximum lifecycle value from assigned spend categories
- Review requisitions received, and assign requisition to category specialists for action, based on workload and sourcing route (strategic or operational sourcing)
- Review requisitions submitted by end users and required information to enable sourcing is available. Request clarifications from end users if adequate information is not available.
- Define and execute sourcing strategies in close collaboration with the business stakeholders for the respective spend categories
- Recommend suppliers based on the evaluations and negotiations and submit for approval as per delegation of authority
- Negotiate with suppliers and obtain approval of finalized contracts / purchase orders as per the approved delegation of authority
- Manage, guide and monitor the execution of strategic and operational sourcing processes, and approve commitment, based on authority delegated
- Set up contracts in Oracle
- Represent DA Supply Management internally and externally
Communication and Working Relationships
- Internal interactions with business stakeholders and the L3 Category Management and L2
- Category Management to support development and implementation of DA’s supply management strategy
- Communication of progress of sourcing initiatives to Supply Management leadership and Supply Management Board
- Ongoing engagement with key internal customers
- Externally represent the Client’s Supply Management function, liaising between business stakeholders, suppliers, and end users
المهارات
Minimum Qualifications/Education/Experience/Training/Knowledge
Qualifications and Education: The position holder will have a Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, or in a related field, based on the categories managed and a professional Procurement qualification (eg. CIPS).
Experience: At least 8 years in strategic and operational sourcing.
Training: Certification required in any area for ongoing professional development or for mandatory purposes.
Knowledge: The job holder will have knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Oracle), and Advanced Excel. Regional / industry knowledge of relevant categories is preferable.
