The role Director Al Wasl will lead the Ceremonies and Daily Production department in all planning, delivery and integration of this world class venue. The role is an integral part of the management of Expo 2020 and will bring this new venue to life through the successful delivery of ceremonies, daily programs and special events.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Establish, recruit and manage Al Wasl Operations team;
- Lead and manage the Al Wasl Operation team and coordinate with the Program Management team regarding planning and delivery including the complete integration of all the key departments at Expo 2020;
- Lead the development of the different scopes of work/tenders and contracts for Al Wasl, including by not limited to: technical, creative programs and operational contracts;
- Lead and develop of back of house and front of house planning and processes for the successful delivery of Al Wasl programs;
- Ensure venue and supporting venue readiness while considering the complete schedule for the lead up to Expo 2020;
- Consult, plan and deliver all agreed internal service levels including budget management;
- Manage the design and implementation Audio and Lighting system planning and process for Al Wasl and coordinate with the internal and external stakeholders regarding projection, communication technologies and aerial performance installations;
- Consider all requirements for staff, artists, audiences, local community, consultants and contractors working in and around Al Wasl.

المهارات
- 15+years’ experience in Arts & Theatre management, Venue Management & Major Events;
- A Bachelor’s Degree, preferable within a relevant field;
- Significant experience with planning and delivery of large scale Ceremonies, Performing Arts and Major Events;
- Knowledge of Mega Event operational planning and delivery;
- Significant experience in the delivery of start-up venues and new mega events;
- Significant experience in delivering large, complex programmes of work;
- A track record of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams effectively;
- Ability to manage, direct and coordinate a wide range of people at differing levels of authority.
