Senior Manager Event Safety

Reporting in to the Head of Event Health & Safety, the Senior Manager Event Safety will support the safe access and movement of visitors within the Event site in both normal and emergency operations. The Event Safety Officer will perform as a specialist in crowd management strategies and support decision makers in the establishment of respective Crowd Management Plans.
The position will be responsible for developing the Event Time Crowd Management Strategy, policy, management procedures and training programme to ensure that Event time operations are managed and maintained to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all visitors to Expo 2020 and are in line with UAE legislation.

The main responsibilities of this role will include:
- Produce the Expo 2020 Event Crowd Management & Evacuation Risk Assessment and supporting suite of Risk Assessments;
- Ensure that the Expo 2020 Event Crowd Management Strategy, Policy and Plan is aligned and ties into the overarching Expo 2020 Dubai HSQE Strategy and satisfies the overarching risk assessments;
- Create and implement Event Crowd Management Standards supporting the existing Visitor Safety Management Team. Specify requirements to be implemented by departments leading up to and during the events phase;
- Support the existing Visitor Safety Management Team in developing a training programme, covering all the aspects of crowd management and venue movements using internationally recognized best practice;
- Socialize the international Stewarding Industry defining roles, skillsets and opportunity for legacy;
- Work closely with the Expo 2020 HSQE department in the development of all of the above plans and the integration into the overarching Expo 2020 HSQE strategy and assurance standards.

المهارات
8+ years’ experience delivering Crowd Management at International Events, with at least 5 years’ experience at a practitioner level in event safety operations as well as:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field;
- National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4 in Spectator Safety Management;
- Excellent understanding of event health & safety guidelines and legal requirements – both nationally and internationally;
- Good knowledge of the ‘Stewarding Industries’ Internationally;
- Valid qualification in health & safety (NEBOSH, IOSH).
