Senior Database Specialist

-Install, configure and maintain the organization’s database portfolio, including Oracle, Microsoft and non-SQL databases
-Evaluate, plan and manage the storage requirements for the database to meet the present and future capacity needs and develop weekly reports and dashboard
- Administer and manage the database security, in line with the organization’s policies and industry leading practices
- Ensure compliance of the database settings with vendor’s recommendations and in alignment with license agreements
- Monitor and optimize the performances of the databases to meet business demands and future growth and provide weekly performance reports
- Control and monitor user access to the database, raising security incidents in case of unauthorized access or operation and supporting the investigation
- Evaluate and manage the database backup and restore as per the Organization’s backup policy.
- Define the backup and restore requirements, strategy and setup, in alignment with service provider of Backup as a Service
- Ensure storage, archival, backup and recovery procedures of the databases are properly monitored, reported and functioning as expected
- Perform quarterly backup restore tests for Oracle, Microsoft and other databases, to ensure backup integrity and effectiveness of the backup/restore procedures
- Liaise with database vendors for technical support, from ticket opening till final resolution and root cause analysis of the problem
- Document and maintain database standard operating procedures and architecture documents
- Database capacity assessment, planning and maintain database standards.
- Work closely with all IT teams, providing proactive alerting of database anomalies or degradation of performances and analysis/resolution of issues and recommending enhancements
- Deploy patches and software releases that impact the databases
- Knowledge transfer to Junior staff members as part of mentoring.
- Evaluate, recommend the organization database architecture and data integration methods in line with business requirements.
- Enhance and significantly automate DBA’s daily operations
- Participate in projects that require database analysis, installation, configuration and ongoing support
المهارات
-Bachelor or master’s degree in information technology in related field.
- Minimum 10 years IT experience of Database Administration and Management experience.
- Minimum certification required Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) for Oracle 12c. Recommended Oracle Certified Master (0CM) for Oracle 12c.
- Experience in Linux OS Redhat7.x administration.
-Certified MCSA in SQL 2012/2014/2016 administration.
- Experience with data management and data processing techniques.
- Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices, including Pl/Sql
- Banking or Financial service industry related experience.
- Experience in other databases such non-SQI DBs, MongoDB, MySQL
- Proficient in English and Arabic.
