Job Description and Requirements Responsible for overall operational and functional activities of the Electrical department and ensuring that projects are delivered within safety, quality and budgetary targets set by the management. Recommend improvements to Electrical departmental policy and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of Electrical department activities so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers Prepare and recommend the department budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed Monitor the financial performance of the Electrical department against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon. Oversee department manpower, equipment’s and various other resource requirements and ensure optimum use of the same by ensuring cost control is exercised throughout the year. Liaise with Project Managers / Client / Class Societies as deemed for discussion on project matters. Skills Graduate or equivalent degree in Marine or Electrical Engineering. Knowledge and experience gained in large Ship yard and workshop with new building and conversion facilities Minimum 15 years working experience in ship repair with conversion and new building facilities with minimum 3 years as functional head. Sound knowledge of marine electrical systems and electrical rotating machineries. Conversant with electrical/instrumentation/electronics skills. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with business objectives. Sound Knowledge of relevant Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards. Knowledge and experience gained in large Ship yard and workshop with new building and conversion facilities. Project management skills. Education |
