Lead Data Engineer

Job Description and Requirements
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data Science Team.

Here’s what an ordinary day looks like, you will:

Provide analytical reports and recommendations to improve product features or build new data products based on real time and historical data review and analysis.
Assemble large and complex data sets that meet Vezeeta’s business requirements.
Report regularly on the quality of data acquired internally and externally.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability,
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ‘big data’ technologies.
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture for real-time and batch analysis.
Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide insights into operational efficiency of the key business performance metrics.
Work with Vezeeta internal departments, to assist with data-related issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Comply with applicable Vezeeta security and separation policies for data management.
Create data tools for Vezeeta team members that assist them in optimizing the data into decision making tools.
Liaise with source systems stakeholders as required to resolve systems and data issues and propose improvements.
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture and Develop, construct, test and maintain architectures. Align architecture with business requirements
Developing and automating data acquisition processes
Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
Deploy sophisticated analytics programs, machine learning and statistical methods
Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modeling.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities associated with the position.
Requirements

Bachelor / Master in Computer Science, Statistics/ Information Systems from a recognized university.
8-10 years of relevant working experience.
Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving, and streamlining complex work processes.
Computer-literate performer with extensive software proficiency covering wide variety of applications.
Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and colleagues.
Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects.
Proven ability to develop quality standards, testing procedures, inspection reporting formats, and ability to conceptualize tasks and accomplish them.
Good knowledge of statistical methods and their applications.
Fluent in writing SQL and NoSQL queries
Experience in Programming (Python, Java, R) languages.
Shell Scripting
Experience with design and development of ETL processes
Data pipe lines development.
Experience in Relational and Non-relational databases
Data modelling experience in building Logical and Physical data model.
Experience in building Tableau, MicroStrategy, Excel (Pivot table) Dashboards
Strong understanding of Statistical algorithms
Data analysis and synthesis Data integration design
Understanding of security, accessibility and version control
Data Innovation, Metadata management and problem resolution skills
Taking care of the complete ETL(Extract, Transform & Load) process
Hadoop, Spark, Python, Scala, Java, C++, SQL, AWS/Redshift, Azure.
Hadoop-Based Analytics (Hbase, Hive, MapReduce,etc), RabbitMQ, Kafka Scoop
