Director Editor-in-Chief

The Editor in Chief leads content producers and writers with a focus on improving Expo 2020 Dubai’s editorial style and tone. Also, will work with the communications teams on generating content, editing, scheduling, story assignment and long-range planning of features on all platforms to help manage content producers who are supporting various departments within Expo 2020 Dubai.  The main responsibilities of the role include: - Oversee the consistency of the Expo 2020 Dubai’s editorial style, and communicating with Expo 2020 Dubai’s writing and editing team and agencies; - Develop and implement innovative strategies for integrating the editorial operations and repurposing content for multiple media platfroms and types across traditional and digital spaces; - Contribute to the development of online and social media efforts. Work with VP communications to develop an appropriate web and social media presence Expo 2020 Dubai; - Ensure changes in procedures and workflow are appropriately communicated, and managed through the implementation of new technologies; - Direct the day-to-day operation of the content generation team in the communications department and be accountable for recruiting, training and evaluating content generating staff and act as a liaison with senior management; - Supervise editorial research for Expo 2020 Dubai and makes changes in direction based on the findings to improve quality and increase readership; - Oversee Expo 2020 Dubai’s writing and ensure it is at the highest standard and reflects a conversational tone; - Lead the division responsibly and proficiently, providing effective line management to direct reports, as well as set objectives and evaluate performance of individual direct reports and actively manage key personnel issues. 
المهارات
15+ years’ experience in communications or related industries, as well as:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Political Science, International Affairs, Communications or a related discipline;
- Proven management ability and excellent interpersonal, leadership, and judgment and negotiation skills required;
- Demonstrated ability in providing editorial vision and direction for editorial and content staff;
- Demonstrated ability in utilizing multiple information sources, including research results, and to analyses complex information to identify trends and develop successful editorial strategies;
- Excellent oral and written Arabic communication skills.
