Job Purpose: Reporting directly to the VP Operations, the Knowledge Manager will be responsible for driving a healthy knowledge sharing space across our Operations business. The main goal of this function would be to assist in the knowledge management strategy and lead implementation. The Knowledge Manager will also be responsible for the coordination and timely delivery of knowledge and content management activities. The Knowledge Manager will closely work with the KM Leader to define and execute sustainable knowledge plans to develop a healthy knowledge sharing space for the business. This role is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Key Accountabilities: Develop and oversee the implementation of the Knowledge Management
Support in the development and management of the knowledge management plan including strategies for knowledge exchange, project learning and adaptation. The plan will also include indicators to assess the reach, engagement and usefulness of learning and action
Monitor and measure the Operations community’s engagement levels through participation and leadership of huddles, networks, and meeting sessions
Build solid working relationship with the senior management team to support project activities and provide knowledge management expertise and support as needed
Create knowledge management systems, platforms, processes, and tools to support efficient and effective knowledge management, learning, and communications and to ensure the project’s institutional memory
Contribute to the Averda’s knowledge management community of practice by sharing lessons sample materials, lessons learned, and best practices from around the world
Plan and lead workshops to train staff on knowledge management and communication best practices
Manage content on project SharePoint
Evaluate and monitor the impact of the Operations division knowledge management strategy
Adjust current strategy to ensure knowledge reaches all project coordinators
Develop and oversee the implementation of the project communications strategy
Support the VP Operations to achieve and maintain effective communications with project stakeholders
Lead the development and implementation of effective regional and country-specific project communication strategies, activities and tools. This will include descriptions of target audiences, key messages and strategies, communication activities, expected plan and communication workplans
Work closely with the operations teams, project partners and internal stakeholders to identify data, stories, and articles for communications materials
Develop, update, and disseminate communications and knowledge materials such as the creation of an internal digital product and subject matter expert (SME) focused content
Liaise with the internal stakeholders to capture, document and develop a collection of success stories, failures, and lessons learnt from the field and have a library of stories for use in reports, articles, communications activities and impact assessments
Support the development of project deliverables, including coordinating information gathering for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and for annual work plans, and support with writing and proofreading technical reports and research publications
Market the Delivery Management System (DMS) and other product successes internally to key stakeholder groups and effectively capture the influence on the operations
Stay informed of the progress, directions, activities and best practice within the global waste management sector project communication is useful, rich and diverse
Manage project and contact information
Project Management Support
Close follow up on project development and tracking the completion at each project stage
Analyse the data captured from project managers through their status reports and report the outcomes to the VP Operations
Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) on ensuring the project management framework is implemented within the projects related to the Service Delivery workstream
Assist the VP Operations on the development of business cases to support the initiation of continuous improvement projects
Coordinate with the Global Delivery Service Centre to manage the relationship with the digital solution provider and capture SLA metrics
Follow up with Delivery Directors and Delivery Managers on their Project / Program Status reports
Assist the VP Operations on the development of reporting material to upper management especially on transformation and continuous improvement initiatives

Bachelor’s Degree
Experience communicating technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
Experience writing knowledge articles
Experience leading communications within large matrix organisations
Experience facilitating workshops and trainings in knowledge management and communication best practices
Project management expertise
Desirable
Experience of waste management/ environmental services
