JOB PURPOSE:
Manage the engineering activities within the Electrical and Instrumentation discipline, within a Global Business Unit establishing and maintaining the technical standards. Responsible for Instrumentation & Controls and SCADA projects including design and implementation.

Upgrade Project Management
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Electrical Engineering
Lead the group Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering projects for the design, development and integration of new Control Systems, new process improvement devices.
Provides technical support and recommendations on electrical design, drawings, specifications, calculations and studies.
Review, interpret instrumentation, control, P&ID;and electrical drawings.
Machinery Upgrade & Project Management
Manage the group machinery upgrade projects,
Implement a corporate wide ICS and SCADA vision with guidelines and directives.
Coordinate and Direct activities of vendors and internal personnel in installation of new equipment,
Provide full system overview and comprehensive planning to upgrade the control systems, including full SCADA diagnostics,
Identify upgrade project deliverables, define requirements, create design documents, and contribute to design reports,
Pursue technical and plant support roles for the internal/external teams to supplement capital project work,
Prepare, review and finalize cost estimates for new upgrade,
Create scope of supply, acquire offers and negotiate the final cost.
Software Development & Networking
Develop, support Industrial Communication Network and protocols (Modbus, Serial RS485, ProfiNet),
Create software applications systems (Product Recipes Database, user interface),
Develop industrial automation programming solutions for HMI (Human Machine Interface),
Plan, design and implement Data Acquisition System with real-time communication between various devices,
Implement secure networking to troubleshoot and upgrade software remotely,
Manage the Cloud system related to group machine operation,
Ensure Software Source Code for all machines are acquired and maintained with secure backup,
Manage and support Software Licenses, compliance, agreements and yearly renewal.
Automation & Control Support
Manage the continuous operation of the group industrial control systems (ICS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems,
Develop, modify/improve, test, and startup PLC and HMI automation projects,
Program, troubleshoot and repair group wide PLC & CNC control system, MCC (Motor Control Center) equipment, AC VFDs, Induction Heaters, Flow Dosing system, High Pressure Testing Equipment,
Configure, maintain Process Measurement & Control Instruments (Weight, Temperature, Flow…)
Equipment Design
Lead the Implementation of innovative technologies in the design of new machines & production lines relating to electrical, automation, instrumentation & control.
Technology Sourcing
Identify and assess new technologies and suppliers globally,
Evaluate proposals from vendors and make recommendations on equipment purchases, software upgrades and purchases of system components,
Lead in the formulation of the most competitive, best value agreements for rapid and sustainable savings,
Follow-up with procurement teams for purchase orders of new equipment and machine components
Machinery Development & Improvement
Ensure the optimal automation process is provided to meet the design requirements, efficiency and safety of the company system,
Rollout the successfully tested equipment and machine components in the group.
Commissioning Projects Management
Manage the deployment of automated control systems,
Develop a Project Plan and standard procedure for equipment installation, commissioning and SAT, with minimum interruption and disturbance of operations,
Install ICS, SCADA and Instrumentation equipment at field sites as required,
Coordinate with plant managers, project/design engineers, production & maintenance personnel and the IT information technology staff to ensure optimum commissioning and start-up time.
HSE
Investigate the electrical fire incidents and establish corrective and preventive actions,
Coordinate with the HSE Engineer to identify & display the safety requirements for every machine.
Comply with relevant safety, quality & environmental control procedures & instructions.

Internal:
Operating units Production, Maintenance, QA/QC, Finance, CIT, Purchase & Delivery teams
Central Product Development team (PED)
Machinery Development team
External:
Local and Overseas Suppliers of Machinery, Parts & Technical Services.
JOB RELEVANT INFORMATION
The jobholder of this function must have extensive experience in the related industrial field. He should be able to respond quickly to the operating plants support requests & deliver the required service in timely manner.
Responsible for all phases of each project from concept design to scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, team supervision, interface with supplier, execution and project close/sign-off.
During component commissioning, job holder will be the single point of contact and decision maker on site to make sure all equipment are functioning as required and the team is well trained to operate the production machines under commissioning. He should be able to operate machines and test the equipment. He should be able to manage large quantity of subordinates running the project.
The jobholder is responsible for ensuring to receive correct components from local and overseas for the relevant project.

QUALIFICATONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications:
Electrical/Electronics/Automation/Control/Industrial Engineering Degree
Minimum Experience:
8 years of Electrical/Automation/Instrumentation & Control/SCADA engineering experience
Job-Specific Skills:
Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical systems, electronics and field instrumentation,
Extensive knowledge of Process Control Programmable Logic Controllers and SCADA Remote Terminal Units and their associated communication protocols,
Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), CAD, and ability to learn additional software,
Experience with programming language (Visual Basic VB6, VBA, Citect Vijeo…),
Knowledge of CNC, PLC and HMI programming,
Exceptional skill in computer applications and networking with an emphasis on SCADA software applications,
Serve as the primary project manager for all ICS/SCADA projects through the company,
Serve as the primary staff advisor on all ICS and SCADA issues,
Knowledge of process temperature, pressure, flow and level instrumentation,
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and electrical schematics,
Knowledge of plant and production equipment,
Knowledge of all workshop tools (handling sets, welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, turning, shaping, etc…),
Knowledge of Continuous / Discontinuous pipe manufacturing equipment operations,
Knowledge of all equipment used for machine erection.
Knowledge of civil works for fixing m/c foundation plates.
Ability to communicate with suppliers for getting the quality products as per the requirements in time.
Ability to operate several team projects with multi-task targets.
Ability to set goals and meet deadlines
Ability to provide direction to project team members.
Proficiency in English and Arabic.
