Job Description and Requirements
Key Responsibilities

Ensure sub-contractors are working to site construction program.
Develop and implement short-term programs of work.
Ensure that at all times Cader Construction ltd H&S;policies and guidelines are strictly adhered to and the site safety plan is implemented in a timely manner.
Ensure that construction work is in accordance with the Safe Work Method.
Proactively looking to reduce potential roadblocks and ways to accelerate the schedule.
Seek to find more efficient ways of conducting work on site while maintaining the integrity and quality of work performed.
Monitor and review programs to ensure time requirements are met providing regular progress reports to Site and Project Managers.
Monitor and inspect the work of sub-contractors to ensure quality of work, adherence to schedules and satisfactory completion of works.
Manage the rectification of defects and satisfactory completion of work.
Consult with sub-contractor and consultants to resolve day-to-day construction and design issues.
Maintain an up-to-date daily Site Diary and materials supply records.
Adhere to procedures for purchasing requisitions and site instructions.
Keep abreast of current industrial relations legislation, with focus on issues which impact the Site Supervisor’s role.
Supervise and co-ordinate the tasks and activities of construction workers and sub-contractors to ensure satisfactory completion of works.
Effectively communicate with project team as it pertains to the daily work activities, project milestones and schedule adherence.
When allocating work or variations to sub-contractors, ensure such work is within the contract budget.
Adhere to financial procedures including requisition and approval requirements.

Education & Experience

3 + years of experience as a Site Superintendent
Post-secondary degree preferred (in Civil or Structural Technology, Engineering, Construction Science or Carpentry/Joinery apprenticeship)

Required Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of building and construction trades
Specialist skills (e.g. structures, steel, finishes, services) beneficial
Experience in scheduling and planning of sites and teams
Experience with specifications and contract documents (i.e. subcontract scope of works)
Strong communication and leadership skills
Strong understanding of cost management

Work Environment

May require some on-site visits to project locations with minimal possibility of exposure to hazardous materials
