Key Accountabilities:
1. To establish the guidelines for a safety program and helps the employer implement the policy, including implementing safety procedures and instructing employees on how to assess certain hazards
2. Ensures that company personnel observe and follows established safety guidelines
3. Attends regular department meetings to remain in line with comprehensive safety practices of the company.
4. Assists in the organization of awareness campaigns regarding safety, such as workshops for occupational safety, fire safety, industrial health hazards etc.
5. Assists in the conduct of fire and emergency drills
6. To work out on plans to reduce injuries and accident on the work site
7. To conducts regular safety audits and inspection of facilities, worksites, equipment, work practices, and safety devices to ensure compliance with required workplace safety standards, regulations, and company policies
8. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; maintains proper documentation to conform with record-keeping requirements of OSHA standards and UAE Labor Code.
9. Investigates serious accidents and/or incidents of injury or property damage at worksites to ascertain cause and need for corrective action; develops and implements measures and strategies to prevent their recurrence in order to meet long-range loss-reduction goals; advises departments as to the keeping of records and coordinates the compilation of information necessary for Risk Management files and reports.
10. Develops and provides individual counselling, and on-site and classroom training to staff on safety topics such as ergonomics, driving safety, personal protective equipment, and lifting/back safety; provides training to departmental safety coordinators on safety practices and policies, accident prevention techniques, and accident reporting; coordinates the keeping of records of safety training.
