Responsible for planning stock and intake selection/buying requirements to meet the budgeted sales through analysing consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends to ensure that all products remain competitive and available to customers at all times in order to maximize profits and provide a commercially wide range of products in-line with changes in demand. Operations:
Implement the brand & purchasing function’s policies & procedures and ensure they comply with AAW’s other policies.
Prepare range plans according to the strategic plan and customer expectations of all product groups for the brand.
Order products through efficient negotiation of buying terms and delivery terms according to host brand range purchase plans, sales reports and stock on hand reports - Products and Spare Parts
Follow up on orders and tracking of shipments - new orders, in transit, receiving, delays and highlighting and discussing the same with the host brand. Ensure accurate reports are obtained and align the information with stock levels.
Maintain efficient relations with suppliers to negotiate purchases that are in-line with the set targets of the business division as well as source new suppliers for future product requirements ahead of time as per business requirement.
Manage very high product knowledge of the brand through conducting sales and market analysis of customer buying patterns in order to administer efficient purchase order management. Also maintaining competitive analysis reports and highlighting opportunities in the market.
Maintain reports for Daily Sales QT and stock levels via WSSI to ensure business requirements are aligned.
Conduct research on current business performance using all inventory management tools available to determine key sales and stock growth areas for all brands, products, categories and price levels to aid future buying decisions to maximize sales and minimize risk using cost parameters, KPI’s etc.
Assist the brand Manager in range planning/coordination of availability of products for new store openings as well as for forecasting of sales and inventory by brand by business unit
Item Creation, Classification, PO creation and follow-up on shipments and compare received quantity against actual invoices.
Recommend retail pricing levels, mark down lines and mark down percentage strategies in cooperation with the Brand Manager in order to achieve growth across all classifications, categories and business units.
Maintain stock file accuracy and gross profit on purchases and/or net profit on sales in line with overall business expectations.
Plan for transfers, new orders/reorders and new products in JDE System.
Manage and allocate merchandise (selection, quantities and assortment) for each store as per sales expectations at store and brand level and prepare markdown data for all stores accordingly.
Plan, discuss and maintain market visit tracker for WHS team and maintain display matrix, new product launches, cashback claims and dealer updates.
Prepare ad-hoc reports as per business requirement.
Perform other duties related to the job as assigned by the Direct Manager.
