Estimation Engineer

Job Description

Estimation: shall review all enquiries and respond to customer within time frame. The estimation lead shall coordinate with material, manufacturing and project management/site for any clarification during tendering stage to ensure the compliance with project specs and to assure the best prices of resources for material and equipment’s. He shall ensure the quality of quotations/proposals and the below details shall be defined in the quotation as minimum:
1. Scope of work, specifications and Schedule,

2. Reference documents (drawings) received from customer

3. Inclusions and exclusions

4. Terms of payments and any special condition such as cranes…etc.

Design engineering and detailing: shall review all engineering documents, material specs, project requirements. The design engineer shall coordinate with Project Manager for any technical clarification required from customer/consultant to ensure the compliance with project specs and to assure the most economical design/details are provided. He shall ensure the quality of design/detail and the below list shall be provided as minimum for all projects:
1. MTO: Preliminary Material take off for material procurement

2. Design review/check (as required)

3. Engineering (Design and Detailing) to develop:

1.Structural design calculation (if design within Al Jaber scope)

2.connection design

3. General layout

4. Detail Fabrication drawings and packing list

5. Develop final MTO for material procurement
Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Master degree is preferable.

Good written and oral communication English skills

Good interpersonal skills, ability to work independent and with others

5-7 years of civil/ steel structure estimation/ engineering experience related to major Industrial Projects, including minimum of 6 years in structural steel manufacturer.

Proficient in the usage of relevant software packages such as STAAD Pro, RAM Element...etc. TEKLA, SAP, Auto Cad, Microsoft office...etc.

Good organization Management, time management, detail oriented and mathematical accuracy talent, budget and cost analysis skills and experience.
