Business Development :-
• Performs market intelligence activities covering pricing, market positioning, service development and prospect identification.
• Works closely with trade lane partners, establish trade lane development teams and develop a robust Trade Lane Development Plan.
• Identifies top target prospects/customers in the lanes based on their business potential
• Maintains and develops new opportunities with both internal and external customers
• Maps developments with each customer and devise action plans
• Ensures due attention to new opportunity / lead from local or overseas offices
• Achieves agreed financial and individual country trade lane volume KPI’s.
• Maintains and grows gross and net revenue of assigned accounts in line with annual budget.
• Reviews small/inactive businesses to cancel or grow the business.
• Identifies independently or in support from Strategic Management team/regional/global / product teams, new business opportunities and convert opportunities into revenue in line with annual budget
• Responsible to actively manage new proposals through presentation, proposal submission, negotiation and business closure stage
• Ensures all requirements of client business is understood and clearly addressed such as to have a clear scope of work defined for the contract
• Engages closely with product heads (and/or, delegates) and support functions (legal, IT, Government and others) to ensure new business is in line with Agility guidelines
• Where applicable ensure SOP / contract / MoU is signed on time in line with partnership go-live date
• Ensures implementation of new business into operational phase by setting clear goals for the implementation with the PMO office, and monitor implementation as per agreed frequency to ensure implementation is on track. Act as escalation point for corrective action, for any identified setbacks
• Ensures clear SOPs/KPIs are developed, agreed and communicated before start-up of operations
• Ensures correct credit applications are submitted where required as per the credit application process
• Ensures timely invoicing and collection in line with client’s service needs and payment terms respectively.
Network Development
• Prepares and updates organizational chart for all contacts across regions for the Trade Lane.
• Ensures that trade lane development teams regularly receive updated market information.
• Ensures that the necessary sales tools are in place to support both local and network partner sales initiatives.
• Creates business case note for every win and send along with the SOP to the respective regions product manager.
• Supports trade lane development by acting as a central point of contact and internal ‘pipeline’ coordinator to all trade lane partners.
• Plans and performs regular sales calls to develop trade lane business opportunities
• Continuously monitors trade lane performance against the trade lane development plan
Commercial Planning
• Develops the Trade Lane Strategy
• Assists in securing sales-leads for network-controlled business in line with the trade lane development plan.
• Ensures competitive pricing though active communication and negotiations with both local suppliers and regional product partners.
• Assists the local sales team with specific trade lane expertise necessary to identify and unlock
opportunities.
• Ensures RFQ/RFP’s are received and attended on time and support RFQ teams for successful closure
