Key Responsibilities: Proactively involved in the establishment of the Maintenance Department procedures, protocols and staffing to ensure the Safe, Reliable and long term Maintenance and Engineering of the Power Plant meet current legislation and all contractual agreements. Ensure proper and effective maintenance of the Plant, considering contractual framework, commercial aspects and in accordance with safety, environmental and legal regulations Manage the engineering projects and maintenance of the Plant so that all requirements are identified, documented, planned, scheduled and carried out correctly, and that a history of details of work carried out is available in the maintenance management system Ensure that identification of maintenance requirements has considered the need to achieve the required plant availability, reliability and performance at the lowest cost Ensure best utility practices and reporting requirements are followed, and maintenance processes comply with relevant IMA procedures Adapt the IMA documents to reflect the maintenance requirements, and consider and actively develop improvement potentials for all maintenance processes Maintain a high safety conscious working environment and ensure compliance with all company and legislative, Health, Safety & Environmental requirements Recruit, train, develop and guide staff, and periodically assess their ability and potential Work with other members of the team to maintain good relations with the Customer and other parties Manage Plant maintenance costs, prepare, agree and provide input to control the Maintenance Department budget Liaise with all parties to ensure that planned outages of equipment are supported at the Plant with the correct tools, equipment, resources and procedures, and that all work is integrated into a single outage plan that is then managed by the jobholder. Assist the Maintenance Manager with the long term gas turbine service contract with respect to planned and unplanned outage services of gas turbines Development of routine plant maintenance through the use of CMMS. Successful preparations and completion of planned shutdowns conducted by GE Implementation of best engineering practices in all areas in accordance with OEM and international standards Completing the planned shutdowns within time and budget Safe and efficient delivery of high levels of commercial availability within environment limits Make decisions, or assist others to make decisions, to resolve plant maintenance problems with immediate, medium and long term consequences Lead and motivate the team by setting appropriate people and plant related performance measures Deliver outcomes, in all areas of work, consistent with the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies Ensure Company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures are followed. Participate in internal / external Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental audits and monitor relevant findings Ensure all procedures, documentation, drawings and manuals are kept up to date and necessary training is completed in a timely manner Ensure suitable training programs are in place, both for individual development and engineering competence, and develop appropriate succession plans for the staff Assist in the budget development for maintenance and provide regular reports of expenditure, explaining variances, potential risks and/or problems and recommending solutions Continues improvement in the process of work. Any other tasks that may be required.
Electrical, C&I;or Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent work experience At least 5 years’ experience in maintenance of Plants or large continuous process plants, of which some years may be in commissioning At least 3-5 years’ experience in line management Demonstrated competence at engineering level with adequate education and training supported. Experience: Experience preferred in CCGT, Gas Turbines and a wide range of auxiliary equipment and budget reporting Must be experienced in the start-up and commissioning of a CCGT Plant. Preference will be extended to a candidate who has previously had involvement with establishment of Engineering and Maintenance Departments within a new CCGT Power Plant.
