Our client, a 240-bed Specialist private hospital based in Saudi Arabia with accreditations by major international and regional accreditation bodies is seeking an ICU Consultant to join their team.
Medical services include Acute Care, general medical/surgical, Intensive Care Units Paediatrics Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Urology, Dermatology, and Cosmetic Surgery. In addition, it offers sophisticated care in Bariatrics, Cardiac Disease, Cardiac Catheterization, Neurosurgery, Renal Dialysis, Joint Replacement, etc. Boasting a multi-specialty physician group practice, designed to provide a high-quality standard of healthcare.
You will be responsible for overall clinical responsibility for the clinical care of critically ill patients. This includes, but not limited to support of various system functions and correction of metabolic disorders, monitoring, and surveillance of the critically ill, making use of the appropriate diagnostic facilities and administration of therapeutic interventions as approved by the attending consultant.
Giving advice and education as appropriate to other medical staff (in the case of individual patient care) and to non-medical staff for general and medical education.
Responsibility for the maintenance of good medical records for all patients under his or her care (in person, or by delegation), and their timely completion including admission.
Operation and discharge notes, and properly requested medical reports.
The organization of day-by-day duties of staff working under him or her, taking into account other duties properly allocated to those staff by others.
On-call duties as required.
· Respiratory failure including mechanical ventilation
· Cardiac emergencies including acute coronary syndrome, acute circulatory insufficiency, shock states, acute heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertensive emergencies.
· Neurological emergencies including coma states, strokes, status epilepticus.
· Metabolic disorders including diabetic ketoacidosis, non-ketotic hyperglycaemic coma, hypoglycaemia, Addisonian crisis, thyroid storm, myxoedema coma.
· Acid-base and electrolyte disorders.
· Polytraumatized patient.
· Postoperative patient.
· Obstetric emergencies including pre-eclampsia.
· Mastering the following skills in airway manipulation including endotracheal intubation, Invasive and non-invasive cardiorespiratory monitoring, Vascular access including central venous and arterial cannulation. Safe use of vasoactive drugs, antidysrhythmic, electric cardioversion/ defibrillation.
The continuing medical education of others, particularly those working with him or her at the time.
المهارات
Minimum of 4-6 years post Specialist Qualification experience in an acute care setting.
Graduation from an accredited school of medicine
M.Sc degree in Anesthesiology, critical care medicine, internal medicine, cardiology or pulmonology from an accredited school of medicine
MBch B with 5 years of experience in ICU.
Professional Licensure/Registration:
The applicant must have a valid professional license to practice, or registration (where applicable) from home country and/or country of last employment.
Excellent command of spoken and written English.
