JOB SUMMARY:JOB SUMMARY:
o Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level without supervision.
o Uses independent judgment initiative to obtain the radiographs for the prescribed examinations.
o Assumes responsibility for designated areas as scheduled by supervisory staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Select and operate appropriate equipment for each exam.
o Position patients according to examinations requested.
o Select appropriate technical factors for each patient.
o Produce radiographs of acceptable film quality.
o Use suitable working practices to ensure that all radiation protect regulations are complied with.
o Ensure the physical safety of each and every patient.
o Aid the Radiologist in the administration of contrast media.
o Responsible for delegated areas of responsibility or specific procedures as assigned.
o Responsible for instruction of staff, if so assigned.
o Ensure rooms are in a state of cleanliness and readiness at all times.
o Report all equipment malfunctions to the Chief Radiology Technician.
o Assist in the emergency treatment of patients.
o Observe all infection control standard laid down in policy documents, particularly in respect of sterile procedures.
o Maintain a correct attitude of professional conduct and conform to all normal ethical relationships.
o Actively participate in the departmental quality assurance and in- service Programs.
o Through the chain command and/ or occurrence variance report, identifies any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the Hospital or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations that put patients, staff or visitors at risk for injury or other harm.
o Comply with the standards laid down by the Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) and Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards (JCIA), performs the duties necessary to support and achieve accreditation.
o Sharing in patient education and awareness about radiation exposure hazard specially in pregnant ladies.
o Perform other applicable tasks assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and ability.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE
Radiographer must hold BSC in Radiologic Technology/ Radiography (or its equivalent) from an approved School of Medical Radiography.
Must hold current licensure or be a member of the appropriate professional body, by examination, in the country of normal professional practice.
Maintains a valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties license (SCFHS) as Radiological Technologist.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two (2) years post graduate / diploma practice in a large, acute care facility.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge of the international & national accreditation standards applicable to Radiology Services Department.
Working knowledge of management theories and their applications within a Radiology Services Department.
Preference is given to candidates with previous Middle East experience and knowledge of
Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint Presentations, Outlook and Word.
Ability to communicate both Arabic and English.
