Progressive Recruitment has partnered with a Multinational tier 1 contractor who is looking for a General Manager to join their regional head office in Saudi Arabia.

The client in question is a major player in the Construction sector focusing on a number of segments including Building, Oil & Gas, Facilities Management, Solar, Water, Real Estate, Infrastructure & Power Plants. They focus on projects mainly in the Middle East but have a very strong presence in Africa, Asia and even parts of Europe.

Due to expansion and growth plans they are now looking for a General Manager to join their business on a permanent basis in Saudi Arabia. This is a residential position, based in Saudi Arabia which include travel also. (We are not looking for a GM who would work a rotation or work remotely from a different GCC)

Profile & background of the candidate:
Within the business, they are looking for a GM for their Building Construction segment. The type of projects working as a Main Contractor or JV including projects valuing 250 - 500 Million. Such projects include Airport, Hotels, Hospitals, Villas and other commercial & residential buildings.They are looking for a strong execution professional who might have had a career track record starting as a Engineer and then working up the ranks to Project Manager, Project Director, Ops director and then into senior leadership overseeing the full business.We would be looking for an engineering professional who would of worked in the same position or looking for the step up and grow.We are looking for a all-round construction & business leader managing the entire KSA business and operations.A leader who understands P&L;, bottom line, team management, working under pressure, making good commercial decisions under pressure in a touch construction market. Although Business development will be a small part of the job, they already have a strong BD team to develop growth. We are specifically looking for an execution professional. Not just BD.As this is working for a tier 1 contractor, we are looking for execution professional who has had a strong career history working for Main Contractors (Buildings) in the past. Worked on high value construction of building projects from design, construction to handover. Who have had exposure of dealing with projects with high claims, arbitration and contract issues in the past. A professional who might be around the age of 40 - 55 years old.
