Mechanical Technician

الوصف الوظيفي
Mechanical Technician reports directly to the Power Plant Maintenance Team Leader. The Mechanical Technician will fulfil the day to day mechanical maintenance activities at the power plants. Additionally, the Mechanical Technician is responsible to support the major outages of the plant, ensuring that the plant meets availability, reliability, efficiency, generation and cost targets, safely and within strict environmental limits.

Core Competencies

1. Good mechanical engineering foundation and practical knowledge of how it applies to modern power plant technologies

2. Application of specialist skills such as fitting, turning, welding, vibration analysis, NDT, etc

3. Application of specialist skills related to the usage of workshop machinery required fro a Power Plant.

4. Knowledge of contractual obligations and the need to support Operations Department in achieving availability, output and efficiency targets.

5. Power plant engineering concepts

6. Strong understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment management systems and safety rules.

Education:

1.An accredited degree in Mechanical or Power Plant Engineering (or):

2. Time Served Apprenticeship (or

)

3. Demonstrated competence at engineering level with adequate education and training supported.

Experience:

1. Multiple years of experience in power stations

.

2. Experience preferred in CCGT, Gas Turbines, and a wide range of auxiliary equipment.

3. Experience with GE gas turbines and advantage

4. Experience of setting-up and / or mobilising an O&M;company in the field of power projects would be an advantage.

5. Experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
