Senior Collaboration Engineer

Position Summary:

The Sr. Collaboration Engineer position is responsible for the ongoing support and continual development of the Cisco Unified Collaboration environment. This operations position requires extensive technical and customer skills and occasional out-of-hours working. This senior position is also expected to contribute to the strategic development of the Unified Collaboration environment including 3rd party applications.

Technical skills:

Excellent experience and knowledge on:
UCS (Unified Computing System, UCS-B, UCS-C) servers for Cisco Unified Communications.
Fabric Interconnect, VMWARE ESXi, Center
PGW and MGX
SIP Trucking
General technical knowledge with the following technologies and protocols:
Multicast (Multicast-VPN)
Quality of Service (QoS)
Routing Protocols (IS-IS, OSPF, BGP)
Spanning Tree (MST)

Non-Technical Skills

Selects appropriately from applicable standards, methods, tools, and applications.
Demonstrates an analytical and systematic approach to problem-solving.
Communicates fluently orally and in writing and can present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who share common objectives.
Plans, schedules, and monitors work to meet time and quality targets and in accordance with relevant legislation and procedures.
Rapidly absorbs new technical information and applies it effectively.
Has a good appreciation of the wider field of information and computer systems, their use in relevant areas, and how they relate to the business activities of the University.
Maintains an awareness of developing technologies and their application and takes responsibility for personal development.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, deadline-driven, complex, team-based environment with conflicting and competing priorities.
Commitment to quality service and teamwork
Deals directly with customers on an occasional basis to ensure their satisfaction with services.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in IT-related discipline.
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE - Collaboration)
One of the following certifications is preferred:
ITIL
PMP

Experience:

10 years of experience & at least 3 years of experience after CCIE Voice or CCIE Collaboration.
