Provide Civil Engineering support to the construction and project management departments of various public and private infrastructure projects with emphasis on design of roads, construction sites, grading, drainage and irrigation utilities. Reviewing of civil engineering improvement plans, contract specifications, construction estimates and engineering studies.
Responsibilities
- Technical review of improvement plans, technical specs, construction estimates, design calculations for compliance
- Provide support for the construction department in answering and resolving technical design issues, clarifying and interpreting the design drawing and coordinating with other sections of the business
- Provide technical advice and guidance to management on all aspects of civil engineering and needed improvements or design changes
- Interfacing with the contractors in site grading, survey benchmarks, utilities interface, above grading pipeline and drainage
- Preparation and review cost estimates and material quantities
- Develop scope of work for consultants
- Review contractor’s design submittals, specs and calculation submittals
- Perform field inspections and provide construction support
- Assist in the preparation of utility master planning in regards to capital improvement projects and verifying capacity of the existing utility systems
Experience
- 15 years’ experience minimum with 5 of which designing utility networks
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia/Middle East and knowledge of the associated roads and utility design codes/regulations
- Chartered Engineer or Engineering Professional in country of origin
