Our client is looking for a Lead Electrical Technician to join their team in Saudi Arabia.
Job Description
• The Lead Electrical Technician is responsible for providing support in the maintenance of Electrical and Automation systems and controls.
• The incumbent performs activities related to electrical maintenance, reliability/maintenance, automation, and controls to achieve overall plant goals relating to quality, throughput, and efficiency.
• Responsible to perform daily repair, inspection, maintenance work orders and troubleshooting if required on different electrical equipment s like motors, Electrical panels, sensors, Inspection of busbars and Drives, PLC, & etc.
• He diagnoses and rectifies faults found from customer requests to implemented solutions, performs root cause analysis as required, either alone or part of a team.
• He supports other crew during plant down days and major breakdowns.
• Works on 8-hour day shift or 12-hour rotational shift and/or on-call pattern as per the rolling mill requirements and preforms other related tasks.
Responsibilities
Health, Safety and Environment
• Adhere to EHS regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Report, investigate and monitor near misses/incidents in area of control, conduct and participate in all activities relating removal of hazards in your work area.
• Prepare application for work permits and understands and implements permit conditions prior to commencement of work. Follows LO/TO & V standard practice for isolation of the electrical equipment.
• Set job safety procedure standards (JSP) and maintain safe performance of all work.
• Follows Life Saving Rules (LSR) strictly.
Equipment Maintenance and Overhaul
• Coordinates with MRC- Central maintenance department to implement site-wide maintenance strategy applying Lessons Learned .
• Executes the preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance activities as per planned program according to Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Checks the functionality of equipment and measuring instruments and test the instrument for calibration in accord with allowable limits and standards.
• Implements Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing (LM) and Reliability Excellence (REX) in his designated area.
• Dismantles, repairs, overhauls, reassembles, inspects and tests equipment that has been repaired as requested.
• Ensures work complies with standards, tolerances and fits & working in accordance with sound engineering practices on all jobs under his purview, both On-Site and occasionally in Workshops; includes reading P&ID;s, Technical Literature and Equipment Manuals.
• Responsible for selection of electrical equipment and oversee the completion of electrical layout drawings, cable sizing and selection, routing and schedule drawings as required to complete the defined project
• Completes the equipment location plans, cable tray routing and loading, build and shelter electrical layouts and details.
• Completes instrument location plans, building and shelter instrument layouts, instrument installation details, and related drawings as required by the defined project.
• Prepares input/output listing from project documents for detailing the hardware and coordinates with the plant designs including preparation of panels and control stations.
• Responsible for trouble shooting automation control problems and improves system performance in manufacturing environment.
• Works with contractors on project specification, control plan, system testing and commissioning.
Problem Solving
• Trouble shoots and resolves more complex technical problems in order to get the equipment back in running condition.
• Provides support to the reliability process, root cause analysis, fault finding, rectification and proposal generation as required.
• Ensures work reports are entered correctly in the maintenance information system after completing each job.
Experience & Qualifications
• Technical certificate or diploma in electrical engineering or relevant field.
• With at least 8 years of experience and above in a large technical industry with the demonstrated experience on specific type of electrical equipment.
Skills
• Ability to trouble shoot in measuring equipment, & Gauges.
• A comprehensive knowledge of all Electrical and Automation Equipment in Rolling Mills.
• Knowledge of Company Safety, Health & Environmental requirements and guidelines.
• Excellent all-round communication & interpersonal skills, English knowledge both written and verbal, at all levels of an organization.
• Proactive problem solving and dynamic self-starter.
• Commercially sensitive with strong technical skill / trade.
• Ability to spot potential problems.
• Computer knowledge in MS Office and Oracle application is an advantage.
