Supervision of Subordinates:
• Organise and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within the QHSE is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and departmental policy.
• Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback to subordinates to support their overall development.
Budgets and Financial Plans:
• Monitor the financial performance of activities within the QHSE versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon
Safety & Quality:
• Establishing Safety, Health and Environmental and Quality objectives and set-up the necessary strategies of implementation.
• Reviewing the development and implementation of SAUDIA CARGO related Safety, Health and Environmental and Quality policies, guidelines and procedures.
• Ensuring the establishment, implementation and monitoring of Safety Management System (SMS).
• Ensuring that processes needed for the SMS/QMS are established, implemented and maintained
• Report on the performance of the SMS/QMS and the need for improvement
• Ensure the promotion of awareness of safety culture and expectations throughout SAUDIA CARGO.
• Lead safety and act as the principal safety advisor to station/operations managers and senior management, providing guidance and directions, to pro-actively implement, practice and adhere to SAC’s core safety, quality, health and environmental functions, systems, values and code of conduct.
• Review all safety significant events, issues, accidents/incidents and investigation reports, evaluate compliance with procedures and follow-up on implementation of remedial action to ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent recurrences.
• Establishing plans and conducting of Planned / Random safety inspections, studies, audits, investigations, ERP drills and safety surveys as required.
• The overall management of revisions, amendments and enhancements to applicable manuals, procedures, operations, equipment, plans, work methods and human practices to ensure compliance with Safety/Quality standards.
• The management and enhancing of applicable Safety/Quality manuals, systems and equipment within QHSSE department.
• Conduct internal evaluation audits and inspections, reviewing these for any corrective action or possible developing trends, and recommend measures for the continuous improvement of systems to ensure any occupational risk that can impact the reputation and business interests of SAC are adhered to.
• Establishing and monitoring Safety/Quality Assurance program including performance measurements, management of change, and Safety/Key Performance Indicators (S/KPI).
• Cultivate a safety culture within the Ground Handling departments to encourage honest and open communication with a sound team spirit, self-critical analysis, open reporting, continued staff development, and realistic successor-ship planning.
• Provide oversight of the safety programs and initiatives to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of Safety Management System.
• Management of safety and quality related training requirements and measuring its performance.
• Ensuring effective compliance with all regulatory and industry requirements including meeting IOSA, ISAGO audits.
• Participating in SMS/QMS committees, seminars concerning Safety/Quality Reporting, Safety Review and Communications; such as:
o Safety/Quality Review
o Management Review Meeting (MRM)
o Cargo Central Safety Committee (CCSC)
o IOSA/ISAGO Steering Committees
o Safety Investigation Committees (SIT)
o SMS/QMS Steering Committees
• Participates in the development of SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and OLAs (Operating Level Agreements) policies, guidelines and templates to inform on process related areas that have any impact of required operating standards.
Occupational Health & Environmental:
• Establish and develop occupational/facilities accident/incident prevention program for Saudia Cargo facilities in accordance with the approved local and international codes and regulations to ensure the highest level of safety standards.
• Develop and implement sustainable management processes and procedures for Saudia Cargo Occupational, environment and Facilities Safety.
• Develop of a collective and personal commitment, by all Saudia Cargo Divisions to occupational safety.
• Monitor and follow-up all accidents/incidents and violations at Saudia Cargo facilities and prepare reports with corrective recommendations.
• Conduct periodic inspection and visits to all Saudia Cargo facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and prepare the necessary reports.
• Establish and conduct Facilities and Occupational Safety activities and tasks in support and as part of Safety Management System (SMS) program
• Inspects Saudia Cargo working environment, sites, machinery and equipment to detect unsafe or unhealthy working conditions and ensure conformity with governmental, international standards and regulations.
• Develop and conduct evacuation drill plan for all Divisions and SBU’s Facilities
• Develop and conduct facilities/occupational Safety Campaigns briefing and presentations and issue safety bulletins to enhance safety awareness.
• Liaise with various governments and outside agencies on issues related to facilities/occupational safety to ensure compliance.
• Oversee and ensure the physical and mental well-being of all unit personnel and ensure that all employees get enough medical assistance and support to help them deal with the occupational and non-occupational health problems through curative health care and occupational preventive medicine.
Process Excellence:
• Ensure implementation of the periodic business performance review to identify most appropriate business process areas requiring business process improvement initiatives / roadmap based on the alignment to the strategic objectives and value-added impact to station operations.
• Lead the problem solving and solution finding of the identified business process improvement areas with cross-functional teams and holistically integrate with other similar initiatives in order to leverage on the resources and ensure the action plan is designed holistically to cover all related areas.
Training Management:

• Assist Director QHSE in the development of operating policies, procedures, plans, programs and budgets involving Job-related training activities for the different stations in the kingdom to ensure these are aligned to stations peculiarities, development levels and growth objectives.
• Oversee and ensure the implementation of training and development initiatives, providing support and guidance in the delivery as appropriate, to ensure gaps are bridged and the flow of operations is not disturbed.
• Ensure necessary certifications are obtained and retained by staff across stations to continuously advance and maintain skill-sets required to run smooth operations.
Continuous Improvement:
• Motivate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices while taking into account international leading practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.

• Implement departmental policies, systems, and procedure so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality and cost-effective service.
