Role Purpose: Responsible to oversee and manage the cost control program of the company and related reporting to management. Ensure adequate controls are executed in plant & warehouse operations for effective inventory management, cost controls, timely and accurate financial reporting.
Accountabilities:
Work in close partnership with the SC&O;management and provide the necessary finance support to ensure day-to-day operations are effectively managed.
Stay close to the financial planning & SC&O;teams to understand product cost strategies and extend necessary assistance in execution – provide necessary assistance in defining the product standard cost, overhead allocation basis, designing BoM, etc.
Responsible for the effective product cost control – ensure historical cost of the product (material, labor & overheads) are adequately recorded, tracked/allocated, compiled and compared with standard/budget.
Variances are analyzed and adequate measures are taken to address any cost variations in discussion with management.
Responsible to perform inventory valuation at each reporting period, in-line with the reporting calendar, to ensure timely, smooth & accurate reporting.
Liaise with the SC&O;management to ensure healthy DII is maintained as per the target set by the company management.
Responsible for periodic physical count of the inventories. Ensure sufficient controls are exercised to safeguard inventories, slow moving and obsolete items are adequately tracked for necessary corrective action.
Responsible for ensuring adequate controls over I2C cycle in partnership with the relevant process/control owners – (ensure adequate controls around plant & warehouse operations, product cost reporting, balance sheet accounts, record management, etc.).
Responsible for the ongoing on-job training & coaching of the commercial team for their development and to keep them abreast of any changes in the business/processes, etc.
