Traffic Design Engineer

• BS in Civil Engineering & MS in Traffic Engineering or Transportation Planning.
• Have a minimum of 8 years experience in a consultancy environment actively participating in traffic and transportation planning, general design guidelines preparation, and overall project planning/ management.
• Project Management duties including preparing bids for traffic related projects
• Client liaison including project meetings with client.
• Planning/ execution of various traffic and transportation, surveys using manual and automatic methods, data interpretation and presentation.
• Writing technical reports and presenting options and recommendations to client
• Developing options for testing potential solutions to transport problems.
• Using mathematical and computer simulation models to evaluate the effects of different road improvement and transport schemes.
• Evaluating the benefits and cost of different schemes or options.
• Assessing the transport effects and infrastructure requirements of new developments to support planning applications.
• Liaising and coordinating with internal departments, e.g. master planning, roads, highways, infrastructure etc.
• Developing the initial design ideas for new or improved transport infrastructure, such as junction improvements, interchange facilities, parking areas etc.
• Managing studies and projects within time and budget limits.
• Excellent analytical skills using manual as well as industry relevant traffic/ transportation software such as HCS, SIDRA, SYNCHRO,PASSER,TRANSYT etc. Knowledge of modeling software such as EMME2, SATURN, or VISUM is also desirable.
• Have excellent verbal and written English & Arabic languages skills.
• The ability to come up with an unusual and clever idea of a given topic or to develop creative alternatives.
