Job Summary: Supports professional leadership to all nursing staff in matters relating to nursing quality, safety and risk management throughout HMG Projects. 2.2 Works within the Nursing Quality Team to support and monitor the delivery of quality and safe nursing practice throughout HMG. Works within the Nursing Quality Team to support continuing professional development of staff in regards to quality, safety and risk management processes in nursing. Monitors nursing and hospital policies review/renewal process and adherence to National and International standards. 3.0 Organizational Relationships: Reports to :Nursing Quality Manager: Hospital Affairs Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to: Acts as a role model for professional nursing practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, effective and efficient use of systems and responsible use of approved channels of communication. Participates in effective communication with Nursing Leaders and staff regarding patient care, standards of nursing care, policies and procedures, monitoring of nursing quality indicators, risk and incident management. Participates in communication with the Nursing Leaders, Infection Control Nurses, Wound Care Nurses, and other relevant departments on implementation and revisions, regarding new or amended nursing standards. 4.4 Observes and supports a safe environment for patients and staff, reporting problems to the Nursing Leaders, Hospital Directors and to the Nursing Quality Manager, as appropriate. Participates in auditing activities:- patient observation, documentation and performance improvement activities, to evaluate nursing care delivery and standards of practice. Collaborates with Nursing Leaders to monitor action plans in regard to identified issues. 4.6 Monitors ongoing quality and safety education and orientation of nursing staff as per the requirements of JCIA and CBAHI. Supports quality and safety information, activities and professional development for nursing staff in collaboration with Nursing Leaders, in regards to quality, safety and risk management information, accreditation and ongoing quality and safety practices and procedures in nursing. Participates in compiling reports in respect to nursing quality initiatives, practices, and data as required. Collaborates with other Quality Team members, appropriate Medical and other department’s staff to promote safety and quality of care delivery. 4.10 Participates on task forces or committees as appointed by the Nursing Quality Manager, Hospital Affairs. Participates in the ongoing quality and safety development of nursing personnel throughout HMG, coordinating with Nursing Leaders in regards to the methods and opportunities for meeting those needs. Performs any other task and duties appropriate to his/her realm of knowledge, skill, capability and experience as required by the Nursing Quality Manager, Hospital Affairs. Committed to promoting and developing Nursing Excellence throughout HMG Education / Licensure: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferable or equivalent). Holds a current Nursing license and is of good standing in country of origin. Current Saudi Commission for Health Specialties registration Current BLS Post-graduate course in designated specialty or equivalent preferred (or prepared to work towards same) Professional Experience / Specialized Knowledge: A minimum of three (3) years in handling senior nursing tasks at hospital level with progressive post-graduate experience. Valid license from country of origin. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Excellent communicator with all staff across disciplines. Proficient in typing and familiar with Word, Excel, Power point, software programmes. Report writing and compilation an advantage. Experience in preparing and delivering presentations, and advising on resource development an advantage. Previous experience in a multi-cultural environment is desirable. Demonstrated background in collaborative relationships with a wide range of personnel. Must possess excellent time-keeping skills, and be able to complete work to deadlines. Experience in healthcare quality processes an advantage.
