Urgently required Fiber Optic Technician for one of the Telecommunications Companyes in KSA ¸Riyadh
Responsibilities
In depth knowledge of optical fiber and it’s laying, testing and jointing.
Optical power loss measurement test of optical fiber link by using light source and power meter.
Troubleshooting in the field.
Finding the cable cut using OTDR, Source Meter, Power Meter and Visual Fault Locater.
Familiar with different types of connectors used in fiber patch cords as well as i.e. SC,FC,LC,RJ45.
Splicing and jointing of optical fiber.
Communicate and coordinate with other workers, vendors and customers.
Prepare and fusion splice all types of fiber optic cables in both indoor and outdoor environment.
Education
Apprenticeship completed.
High School Diploma (or equivalent).
Some College.
Skills
Ability to adhere to Local, Federal regulations and Company policies.
Proficient with hand tools, fusion splicer, OTDR, fiber identifiers etc.
Ability to drive company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Must have good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
Ability to interact effectively with other team members.
Basic understanding of Outlook, Excel and Word.
Must be able to work independently without supervision.
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night.
Work performed near power lines and electricity.
