Project Planning Engineer

Job Summary:

Planning, organizing and scheduling project phases and activities related to steel structures projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Selecting the appropriate techniques and sequence of events for a particular project.
• Scheduling available manpower in relation with the project phases.
• Coordinating with Construction Section Head and Site Engineer to set priorities and fixing submittal dates.
• Preparing and maintaining master program for site projects to support projects management.
• Analyzing construction sites and local environments to determine appropriate logistics solutions and resources;
• Drawing up plans and presenting schedules of work, often with visual aids such as bar charts and procedures diagrams;
• Maintaining charts, graphs and other visual data relevant to the assigned project in coordination with the Construction Section Head and Site Engineer.
• Analyzing and interpreting schedule data and metrics. These would include Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value Management, baseline amendments, and re-planning where necessary.
• Monitoring progress throughout the construction process and comparing this with the projected schedule of work;• Liaising with the site engineer and surveyor throughout the process, making adjustments to projects as necessary;

Education & Work experience:

• B.Sc. in Civil/ Industrial Engineering. • 5 years working experience, out of which 2 years at least as Project Control Engineer in in steel structural or Pre-engineering buildings and should have knowledge of Microsoft Project and Primavera.

Ability to develop and update schedules, create reports and provide analysis using Microsoft Project Management and Primavera.
