Job Description and Requirements
Education and Licensure

1. Graduate from a recognized medical school (M.B.B.S.).
2. Postgraduate degree Fellowship certification i.e. Saudi Board, Arab Board, American Board or Canadian or its equivalent internationally recognized high medical qualifications.
3. Current valid license as consultant to practice his specialty in his country of origin and from Saudi Council for Healthcare Services.
4. Current valid certification of Basic Life Support or obtaining that within 6 months of commencement of employment.

Professional Experience
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the practice of his specialty after obtaining his High Medical Degree.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills
1. Must be fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic.
2. Must be emotionally stable and in good physical health.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.1 Devote himself to his own discipline.
1.2 Offer advice on problems related to Psychiatric problems during emergencies.
1.3 Perform investigation and management of Psychiatric patients, even if under the primary care of other attending physicians but with prior permission and willingness of the primary physician concerned (under the care of or referred to this institution) using subspeciality related invasive and non-invasive procedure if within the capabilities of institutional resources.
1.4 Provide collaborative assistance in referrals of above type patients to appropriate facilities for further management if resources of this institution are not adequate.
1.5 Ensure the smooth running of the Psychiatry outpatient clinics run under his name. Help from Senior RegistrarlRegistrarlResident in Psychiatry could be used in running these clinics. Interns and students could be taken to these clinics only for teaching purposes.
1.6 Supervise the duties performed by Senior Registrar/Registrar/Residents in Psychiatry.
1.7 Conduct regular ward rounds on inpatients either on his own or as a team with his colleagues.
1.8 Participate in Postgraduate activities of the Department of Internal Medicine. This includes Grand Rounds, Bedside Teaching Sessions, Clinical Lectures, Tutorials, Resident Seminar and Journal Club.
1.9 Ensure the hosting of Riyadh Psychiatry Club Meetings at Security Forces Hospital when appropriate in conjunction with the Joint Board for Postgraduate Medical Education, King Saud University, Riyadh.
1.10 Represent Security Forces Hospital in the Committee for Psychiatry related seminars and symposia organized by the Joint Board for postgraduate Medical Education and other bodies as determined by the Medical Director. This includes participation in any Public Health Programs or Symposia related to Psychiatry between the Hospital and the Ministry of Interior.
1.11 Participate in any training program or educational activity related to Medicine and Psychiatry and organized within the Hospital for training Junior Medical Staff regarding various examination boards and in-service training classes for nursing staff.
1.12 Comply with the standards laid down by the Approved International Accreditation Standards.
1.13 Identifies any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the Hospital or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations that put patients, staff or visitors at risk for injury or other harm through the chain of command.
1.14 Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
