Duties and Responsibilities:  5. Duties and Responsibilities 5.1 Conducts an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collecting based on the Neonatal patient’s immediate condition or needs within timeframe specified by client facilities, policies, procedures or protocols. 5.2 Conducts ongoing assessments as determined by the neonatal patient’s condition and/or the client’s facilities, policies, procedures or protocols and reprioritizes care accordingly. 5.3 Develops plan of care that is individualized for the neonatal patient reflecting collaboration with other members of healthcare team. 5.4 Perform appropriate treatments as ordered by the physician in an accurate and timely manner. 5.5 Perform therapeutic nursing interventions as established by individualized plan of care for the neonatal patient and his/her family. 5.6 Provides individualized patient/family education customized to the neonatal patient and his/her family. 5.7 Documents patient assessment finding, physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution. 5.8 Initiates emergency resuscitation measures according to neonatal resuscitation protocols. 5.9 Maintains confidentiality in matters related to patient, family and client facility staff. 5.10 Provides care in non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the neonatal patient’s and family diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights. 5.11 Maintain current competency in neonatal nursing. 5.12 Maintain Certification for continuing education as required. (i.e BLS, NRP) 5.13 Participates in patient/family teaching and discharge planning. 5.14 Requires knowledge, skills and attitude to perform the job responsibilities. 5.14.1Knowledge, Information applied directly to the performance of a function. 5.14.2 Skills, Technical or manual proficiencies which are usually learned or Acquired through training program. 5.14.3 Attitude, Characteristics that must display in the job.
