Role: Perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of aircraft structural engineering to include: Advising and assisting the RSAF in all aspect of aircraft structural engineering, development and integration of concepts that involve requirements, design, prototyping, production, testing, training, and logistics support in all phases of the system life cycle. Bachelors in Structural Engineering or related discipline (Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering). Master’s Degree or higher and Chartered Engineer status is desirable. Minimum of 10+ years of experience in aircraft structural design engineering. Shall perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of aircraft structural engineering to include, but not limited to, the following:
Advising and assisting the customer in all aspects of aircraft structural engineering
Development and integration of concepts that involve requirements, design, prototyping, production, testing, training, and logistics support in all phases of the weapon system life cycle, including trade-off of performance, life-cycle cost, risk, producibility, supportability, testability, and other engineering requirements
Creation of engineering drawings using 3-D and 2D design software
Production of design data for the manufacture and assembly of aircraft structures and systems
Production of engineering drawings, engineering reports, test plans, and TCTOs
Research and review of engineering data (drawings, reports, manuals, etc.) defining aircraft structure or systems in support of design work
Review and provide recommendations for authorizations of engineering modifications to include cost benefit analysis of improvement initiatives
Creation of designs and supervise implementation of modifications to existing systems (aircraft and ground equipment)
Instruction of technicians in correct repair techniques
Design and development of training material and conduct of training
Performance of stress analysis (e.g. to substantiate integrity of repaired structure) and provide advice on matters relating to aircraft stressing
Investigation of aircraft systems related problems affecting fleet performance and development of innovative solutions
Monitoring of test programs and evaluation of test data to identify problems and/or verify performance
Participation in accident investigations to include damage assessments, production of findings reports, evaluations, and recommendations on major defect and aircraft incident reports
Design of support equipment for local manufacture, e..g. transport dollies, stands, racks etc.
Participation in research, development and implementation programs to improve safety, reliability, and maintainability
Development of system testing procedures and documentation to verify performance to specification requirements
Participation in Acceptance Testing of aircraft and equipment
Preparation of staff correspondence to organizations internal and external to the customer
Support of officers at meetings and participation in design and program
المهارات
Bachelors in Structural Engineering or related discipline (Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering). Master’s Degree or higher and Chartered Engineer status is desirable. Minimum of 10+ years of experience in aircraft structural design engineering.
Shall have comprehensive knowledge of aircraft structural engineering principles, policies and practices; experience in standard aircraft component, materials, composites, metals, fabrication practices, aviation hardware, integration; and, proper applications in design with a thorough understanding of the use and application of aircraft technical data.
Should possess knowledge of engineering principles used in stress analysis, 3D computer modelling, and other analytical substantiation techniques
