Business Need / Purpose of role:

The Survey Engineer holds the responsibility for ensuring that all surveying data works and specifications are reviewed and correct prior to and during construction.
Produce technical documentation, review technical documentation prepared by contractors and prepare and implement earthworks and engineering work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget.
As part of the Head Office team, the incumbent also holds the responsibility of setting, implementing, monitoring, and reporting of all required management reports and KPIs for his specialty in accordance to the program’s procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:

Ensure that all survey data, including measurements and calculations, technical designs and specifications are reviewed and in line with the client’s specific requirements. These are compared with Project Specification and Standards and in relation to measurements, survey methods, tools, procedures.
Effectively communicate and co-ordinate between all team members of all disciplines, to ensure mutual awareness of requirements and sharing of information and common resources.
Attend site inspection and provide site report.
Deal with local authorities for data collection.
Coordinate, review and consolidate all survey data.
Coordinate, review and approve the accuracy of measurements, calculations, drawings, material submittals with respect to the project Specification and Standards of practice.
Endorse all measurements, ground surveys, geodetic measurements, survey data deliverables received by Contractors/Other entities.
Review and provide inputs/comments on other disciplines’ drawings and documents.
Respond to technical queries during the Contractor tender periods. Provide review and input during the tender evaluation for the selection of Contractors.
Active participation in the various design reviews, workshops and optimization studies.
Provide clarifications, technical inputs for the Contractor queries & requests.
Provide review and input to resolve the technical issues, and change orders raised by the Contractor.
Review Contractor’s material proposals against specified technical performance requirements and advise the Manager on the appropriateness of the proposals.
Ensure the application of correct standards in the design and development of project deliverables.
Forecast trends, anticipate potential problems and difficulties meeting milestones or budget.
Respond to all site requests and clarifications in accordance to project procedures.
Manage GIS database development, definitions, maintenance, and implementation including ArcGIS Server Portal.
Create and improve digital GIS data, drawings, and graphic illustrations.
Work using ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server and SQL Server.
Keep records of and write reports on GIS status and progress.
المهارات
Person Specification – Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications / Personal Attributes:

The ideal candidate should hold a degree in civil engineering, surveying from an internationally recognized university and over 7 years’ experience or 12 years relevant experience site surveying.
Work experience, preferably in project and design engineering, systems start-up, field engineering and utilities.
Technical knowledge of surveying systems, engineering systems, applications of engineering methods and site data collection. Proven proficiency in AutoCad and data collection using GPS equipment. Proficiency in digitizing, plotting and drafting techniques
Proficiency in GIS database planning, design, and implementation, ArcGIS, object-oriented programming, and SQL Server is a plus.
Fluency in the English and Arabic langua
Experience of working internationally.
