• Developing & maintaining a strong system in the department through proactive and professional leadership by continuous training, guiding and following up with the regional auditors & QC Team to assure their self-development, accuracy and effectiveness to maintain the highest standards of Food Safety and Quality programs.
• Spread the Quality assurance culture & maintain effective communication with related departments by engaging them in the quality assurance matters, sharing the ownership of quality assurance & inspiring them to take courageous decisions concerning avoiding potential risk to comply with the regulatory & authorities standards.
• Acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality.
• Plan & Manage the regional Quality Assurance Audit Programs to ensure that all the stores in the region are complying with food safety policies & procedures, regulatory authorities’ instructions (Baladia, SFDA, SASO, MOC, Environmental Health Department, Slaughterhouses Department, International Standards).
• Develop and manage different initiatives: (Risk Based Audits, Stores Improvement Plan, Stores excellence Plan…).
• Manage & Monitor daily activities related to quality in the DC by:
A. Authorize the daily rejections based on company polices and business needs in collaboration with commercial team to ensure the best Quality items are received and shipped to stores.
B. Monitor creation of rejection reports (daily, weekly and monthly), analyze the reports & recommend the CAPA for the commercial team.
C. Ensure correct system in place (receiving practices, correct sampling techniques…).
• Manage professional and productive relations with the suppliers, including suppliers’ audits & development programs.
• Develop & create the vendors pre-qualifications standards.
• Design, create and develop the Fresh Food items standards.
• Develop & manage a strategic improvement programs with 3rd party service providers.
• Manage food safety complaints, food alerts, and food recalls by investigating and conducting root cause analysis for raised issues & ensure the closing by proper corrective actions to confirm customer satisfaction, products safety and quality.
• Develop and implement food safety and quality training materials.
• Manage & maintain effective documentation processes by:
A. Continually evaluate the current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Create new or update the existing SOPs as per the business need.
B. Developing Quality performance analysis reports (monthly, quarterly and annual).
C. Review and Validate Quality Assurance auditing reports & CAPA reports to identify ways for continuous improvement.
• Manage Food micro-testing plans.
