The DPM Drilling Engineer provides engineering support and interface with the client and field crews focused on improving our client’s drilling performance through the application of the DPM technologies and work processes. The DPM Drilling Engineer is a dedicated position reporting to the DPM Drilling Engineering Manager or line management in the region.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
7 years minimum experience as a MPD Drilling Engineer / Engineer in Charge / Lead Engineer, Saudi Arabia or Middle East operational drilling experience will be a plus.
Valid IADC Well Sharp/IWCF Supervisor Certificate.
Relevant MPD Engineering Training Certificate.
Exposure to and knowledge of a full range of drilling systems such as engineered drilling fluids, well control equipment and processes, surface pressure control and fluids separation equipment, downhole drilling tools, advanced hydraulics and well control modeling and data analysis software.
SKILL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Mandatory Software Proficiency: M-I Virtual Hydraulics, PTK, DOX, InTouch, Well Integrity, Stuck Pipe Prevention, SPT Hydraulics and kick simulation, Microsoft Office suite
Process and Information Diagrams and Flow Systems – Ms Visio or AUTOCAD
Role of the DPM Drilling Engineer represents an important career development opportunity in the DE and PTE career path progression.

JOB SUMMARY:
Demonstrates a total understanding of Schlumberger quality, health, safety & environment management system, and with customer and local regulations/legislation.
Knowledge sharing and reuse is embedded in the workflow. Any knowledge gap is filled before a job and lessons learned are shared during or at the completion of a job.
Manages personal development and keeps up to date on Schlumberger techniques and management methods.
Coordinates, supervises, and encourages commitment to service quality from employees and sub-contractors working on the project.
Provides technical input into bids and contract tender negotiations with Clients, Drilling Contractors and Subcontractors.
The DPM Drilling Engineer will liaise closely with the project assigned drilling engineers from other technical support providers such as drilling fluids engineers, DD/MWD/LWD, drill bits, cementing, casing and completions engineers, mud logging engineers, geomechanics engineers, client drilling engineers and project managers. Where appropriate, the DPM Drilling Engineer with work closely with the Operations Support Center to help support and monitor jobs remotely.
Support operation in the field if required.
Processes
Provides technical sales support; understands and communicates value of DPM technology and interpretations.
Provide prompt and efficient reporting and administration to customer’s requirements.
Challenge’s project technical options to deliver the optimum performance
Ensures that all well plans are fit for purpose and provide the most cost effective solution to meet the drilling performance considerations.
Establishes points of contact with client’s sub-surface and drilling department personnel for effective communication.
Supervises and ensures the effective use of drilling models (mechanics, T&D;, Hydraulics, BHA modeling, hole cleaning etc) developed either by client or drilling engineering, calibrates these models while drilling.
Prepares risk assessments for wells based on proposed well plans, and works with the drilling team to develop action/contingency plans for each risk including well control and stuck pipe prevention.
Establishes client approved drilling practices (e.g. Connection practices, hole cleaning practices, correct procedure to obtain pick up, slack off, and rotating weights, etc.)
Ensures that a technical performance proposal for each well has been developed.
Identifies areas where new and cost effective technologies and techniques can be applied.
Evaluates all aspects of drilling performance and ensures a drilling database is maintained to capture and share lessons learned.
Ensures that daily operations are executed according to the DPM drilling program and that deviations from plan or contract are properly documented and approved through MOC
Provides real-time decision support as required to the drilling team with the aim of improving drilling performance
Ensures performance indicators (KPIs) are used to measure the quality and cost effectiveness of, and benchmark DPM drilling performance.
Completes all work in an accurate, efficient and cost effective manner.
Ownership of any performance related reports required by the client and DPM
Supervises delivery and quality of end of well reports / client’s final product delivery, and performance improvement.
Perform DPM Quality / Operation / Engineering Audit as per DPM Standards
