Head of IT Infrastructure guides and controls the secure and effective operation of the Company’s IT infrastructure in head office and branches to enable application service delivery, workforce productivity, and efficiency of operational technology systems in support of business goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

Owns the availability of IT infrastructure to operate all IT workloads in scope.
Manages all aspects of IT infrastructure according to committed attributes.
Supervises the lifecycle management and administration of data centers, data sites, compute, storage, networking, OT, endpoints and other enabling infrastructure across multiple sites.
Brokers as-a-service delivery and supervises managed services vendors and verifies SLA fulfilment.
Supervises day-to-day infrastructure delivery to ensure that work processes are executed as designed and that they comply with applicable standards.
Orchestrates management of critical and major incidents and intervenes in the case of escalated requests.
Keeps workload customers aligned with IT infrastructure change plans and coordinates planned downtime.
Assesses the impact of introduced changes to people, processes, and systems and develops relevant communication and awareness initiatives to support the effective implementation of changes identified.
Plans and ensures the proactive and reactive maintenance of the IT infrastructure, to enable its accurate operation.
Develops and manages control systems to prevent policy violation and supervises the formulation and maintenance of department procedures according to IT standards.
Supports internal audits, cybersecurity compliance, and external assessments.
Identifies and recommends infrastructure solutions aimed at optimization and innovation and collaborates with internal stakeholders and selected vendors to introduce new solutions in line with IT department plans.
Analyzes business demand, current status, and IT development plans to identify the infrastructure requirements and provide recommendations to scale and maintain IT infrastructure.
Supports the IT strategy team with strategy inputs, budgeting, initiative elaboration, and strategy execution.
Identifies risks to IT infrastructure and works with IT Governance to implement risk response plans.
Facilitates research, ideation, and piloting of innovative ideas, and sponsors.
Participates in steering committees and change advisory boards and puts forward cohesive perspectives.
Stimulates subordinates and contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement and reduction in turnaround time.
Supervises the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.
Ensures all staff have clear objectives, regular performance feedback sessions, formal annual appraisals, and individual development plans, with emphasis on the development of staff.
Ensures and facilitates the employment, training and development of staff within the organization.
Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.

Managerial Responsibilities (by HR)

Ensures subordinates comply with organizational policies, procedures and quality standards in the department, cascading the objectives and KPIs to all members of the team.
Oversees the selection of workforce in the department in accordance with the business and operational plans.
Takes necessary actions that boost subordinate engagement and enhance capability development by providing ongoing feedback and by coaching team members within the department.
Ensures all department staff adhere to GASCO safety and security regulations and take precautionary measures within the relevant scope of work.
Demonstrates effective compliance with all legal requirements.
Ensures department employees are in compliance with all safety & security regulations.
In conjunction with all parties, ensures all GASCO policies are adhered to and maintained effectively.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences/Computer Sciences degree required, and advanced degree is preferred.
IT management experience with long standing background in IT infrastructure including compute, storage, networking, and system software.
Familiarity with enterprise and industrial environments, preferably in the oil & gas industry
Possesses up to date knowledge of prominent trends, technologies, products, solutions, standards, and practices in relevant domains.
Hands-on skills in working with IT leadership and peers to co-create plans, budgets, and solutions
Extensive experience in collaborating with workload owners and meeting their infrastructure needs to serve IT and business goals.
Well versed in the understanding and compliance of applicable regulatory requirements and IT standards
Skilled in compliance and risk management in the domain of IT infrastructure operations.
Hands-on skills and demonstrated experience in the DR domain.
Proficiency in identifying gaps and undertaking modernization and improvement actions to achieve the desired posture and committed service levels.
Conversant with IT Service Management and service level reporting.
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE):Core Infrastructure; Cisco Certified Network Professional(CCNP) required.
ITIL 4 Managing Professional, EPI Certified Data Centre Specialist (CDCS); CompTIA Security+ certification; preferred.

Years of Experience

Minimum 7 years’ experience in infrastructure services, at least 3 as Operations manager in a large company or within an integrator.

Language Skills

Excellent command of Arabic & English Language.
