Summary

The Electrical Engineer performs a variety of engineering work in designing, planning and overseeing electrical systems. Responsible for troubleshooting process equipment as directed. Responsible for engineering to maintain and improve the efficiency and reliability of the operations equipment. Designs, justifies, plans, coordinates and executes plant improvements/upgrades as directed.

Responsibilities / Duties

Ensure reliability of Durrah’s electrical equipment and systems.

Design, develop and test electrical distribution systems, load centers, etc.

Operate and maintain the 34.5 kV /13.8 kV Indoor substation, 12 MW Alternator and other electrical equipments (transformers, switchgear, motors, VFD’s, MCCs, etc.) of power and process plant

Perform electrical studies (load-flow, short-circuit, coordination, etc.)

Identify, analyze and offer solutions to address system needs of the plant.

Generate daily/weekly reports for operation and maintenance of Electrical equipments in process plant.

Manage project schedules and budgets, and obtain permits for operations.

Ensure compliance with safety requirements and standards procedures.

Work with purchasing, prepare requests for proposals and vendor specifications and evaluate bids.

Lead and advise the work of contractors.

Additional duties as assigned.

Supervision of electrical operations personnel may be required.

Additional Requirements:
Candidate must be able to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Required Skills and Abilities

Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives (ABB/Siemens).
Hands-on experience in operation and maintenance of Electrical equipments like Alternator, MV Switchgear, Transformers, Motors, VFD, Soft starter and MCC panels

Strong verbal and written skills required in English.

Knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards

Ability to work with various members of engineering, maintenance and health & safety.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of work order interface.

Knowledge of SAP.

Familiarity with OSHA, HACCP and other Food Safety requirements

Experience
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience (management & technical) in electrical equipments operation and maintenance, engineering, process control and reliability in a manufacturing facility.

Plant experience in electrical generation and distribution for both power and process plants.

Experience supervising electrical or other skilled personnel is required.

Experience using AutoCAD and MS Office is required.
