PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:
Perform installation and maintenance of antennas, cables, radio and electronic equipment’s on towers. This position requires the ability to climb to heights in excess of 60 meters. Riggers assemble and install rigging gear such as cables, ropes, pulleys and winches to lift, lower, move or position machinery and other heavy electrical and electronic objects.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
1. Installation and maintenance of Antenna, Radio and electronic equipment on towers.
2. Antenna alignment.
3. Tower inspection.
4. Cable pulling.
5. Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment
6. Knowledge and experience of electrical and electronic test equipment.
7. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that equipments continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of the installed does not deteriorate; inspect, maintain and repair equipment.
8. Ensure that safety requirements are met at all times. Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
9. Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain-falls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment.
10. Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to manoeuvre over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques.
11. Clean and dress machine surfaces and component parts.
12. Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps.
13. Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
المهارات
1. Ability to climb heights in excess of 100 meter.
2. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
3. Maintains clean, safe and orderly environment
4. Properly follows all safety procedures and policies
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills
6. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to be insurable and able to operate a company vehicle.
7. Organized with a strong attention to detail.
8. Self-starter, team player, results oriented
9. Basic knowledge of Public Safety and Security
10. Equipment Selection — Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
