OIL & GAS WORKSHOP ENGINEER - MECHANICAL
1. BASIC FUNCTION
1.1 Directs and supervises the activities of a maintenance workshop consisting of machine shop, Valve shop, fabrication and welding shop, Filter shop, LDPE Shop and tool room etc.
1.2 Administers the CONTRACT on a day to day basis at the SITE on behalf of CONTRACTOR, including organizing such things as transport, accommodation and messing for CONTRACTOR’S personnel; leave scheduling; arrangements for Call-out Personnel and relievers and off- SITE services.
2. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Plans and executes workshop activities, trouble shooting of equipment etc. Directs and supervises the activities of his team of work shop personnel, for activities in the workshop and in the plants. Solely responsible and accountable for CONTRACTOR’S personnel, comprising workshop supervisors, machinists, fabricators, welders and other crafts related to contract.
2.2 Receives work order requests concerning repair of fabrication of pipes, metal parts or structure in the workshop. Discuss with initiators and recommends optimum methods of fabrication.
2.3 Assigns work with appropriate instructions to subordinates and arrange for inspection and certification.
2.4 Implements preventive maintenance programmed for machinery and for power tools and equipment kept in the tool stores which include determining frequency of maintenance based on historical data, preparing daily or weekly schedules and raising job cards or work orders according to schedules.
2.5 Directs machinery work for equipment parts and spares for turbines, compressors and other rotating and stationary equipment, using variety of machinery equipment including lathes; milling, boring drilling, lapping and balancing machines and a wide range of precision measuring instruments to achieve acceptable standards of workmanship.
2.6 Controls the workshop fabrications of special tools and spare parts not available. Includes allocating work, checking tolerance, accepting completed work from the Technicians concerned and passing to the requesting Department.
2.7 Carried out regular inspections of the shop and work areas to ensure that the safe working conditions are provided that equipment and tools are used in accordance with operating instructions and that equipment which is malfunctioning is identified for repair or replacement.
2.8 Inspects completed work for conformity to craft standards, operational requirements and safety standards. Co-operates with other maintenance and production personnel over multi-disciplined work, and the installation and testing of fabricated parts.
2.9 Performs other related duties, includes ensuring observance of all HSE and fire rules and regulations by personnel working in the workshop, ensuring the correct and safe use of workshop equipment, preparing activity reports, attending meetings etc.
2.10 Daily contact with Maintenance, operations and Technical group up to Team Leader level, to clarify workshop assistance required on equipment or for project activities, and to establish priorities according to operation requirements to minimize interruptions. Carry out frequent contacts with Warehouse to check availability of materials and tools. Occasional contacts with counterparts in other departments of Plant Availability, Operations, HSE and Fire Department.
2.11 Ensure KPI targets set out by Company on routine basis under his scope
2.12 Ensure internal team development program as required by means of counselling, coaching or hands on training
2.13 Acquisition of relevant documents related to workshop equipment and preservation in a safe custody
2.14 Prepare and submit all mandatory reports (like schedule compliance report, HSE reports, contract monthly report, yearly report etc...) Related to contract with Company
2.16 Filing of documents related to PM compliance and HSE plan

3. MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
3.1 B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
3.2 NDT minimum level I in relevant disciplines would be preferred
3.2 Minimum 7 years’ experience in diverse metal crafts including machine tooling, bench fitting, fabrication and welding of pipes, pressure vessels and structures, , with experience of preventive, proactive, predictive and corrective maintenance of a comprehensive workshop facility, typically catering to a refinery or petrochemical plant
3.3 Familiar with applicable codes & standards (like ASME, ANSI, ASTM, API, MSS Etc.)
3.4 Excellent communication skills in English (oral and verbal).
3.5 Profound knowledge of computer skills (MS Office tools).
3.6 Exposure to ERP software like SAP or MAXIMO maintenance and materials module preferred.
4. ADDITIONAL NOTE
• Basic monthly salary of UAE DH 18,000.
• Free Senior accommodation Senior food facilities
• All positions are bachelor status. Depending on the circumstances we may allow the Engineers to bring their family to Abu Dhabi entirely at their own cost. If this is allowed a housing allowance equal to the accommodation and food cost will be provided.
